With AG! not feeling great she decided to sit today out. I wasn't feeling great either but didn't want to tell her that. I think we ate too much pumpkin cheesecake last night (and break sticks) at Olive Garden. With that I was less enthusiastic to race so didn't do a warm-up (ie., ran out of time) which proved to be a mistake because it took a long time to get the legs loosened up and with so much trail running today that was not wise. Lazy map reading to #1 then picked up the pace for a few but felt sluggish after that. Since I wasn't running as fast I decided to map read a lot more details today and while slower I made no mistakes after #1 though perhaps some routes weren't optimal. Great to be racing again after so much Nationals organization. Looking forward to San Fran, then Vancouver sprint camp and perhaps the AZ camp too.
Enjoyed the weekend but not the border crossings. On the way to US we got stuck in a horde of Leafs fans going to the Sabres game on Friday night (50 minute crossing). On the way back we got stuck in a horde of Canadian Buffalo Bills fans (75 minute crossing).
Got a new Garmin watch. time to retire the 401. Perhaps I'll give it to an ARX kid.
Just saw the splits for the weekend. Both days it shows me making an error in the finish chute. :/
