JK Relay with Team SLOW Attackpoint. Fast, fast, fast terrain with straight forward navigation. Didn't have the legs after yesterday for this. Good fun though.

Running 20:00 [3]

Run to start (which I almost missed due to traffic jam - 2 hrs in the car).

Orienteering 1:45:00 [4] ***

JK Long: No carbo load, almost missed my start, lost 3.5 minutes on the first 2 controls, was in 54th place at #2....soooo to slowly move into 14th before I bonked (which I knew I would) is a big surprise. I wasn't really into this race and couldn't run in the grungy woods but ended up 16th - big surprise. Oh yeah and after #13 when the course got interesting I had some good splits (except on the uphill legs post bonk).

JK Middle: Really enjoyed the terrain and course - and that is what it is all about. Despite having trouble running the downhills I had a great race going until #13 (was in 14th place) and lost 2.5 minutes looking for a control stuck down in a re-entrant (more like a pit) in tall grass. I was never more than 50m away from it those entire 2.5 minutes - yet I couldn't see it. I was 61 of 63 people on that leg and dropped 10 places. Crikey! Without that crappy control I would have been 10% down (top 15) which was the goal. It looks like a couple others had trouble on #13 too but for some reason I lost a lot more time.

Arthur's Seat. Steep climbs, fast open hill (knee sore on downhill). Great views of Edinburgh. Thats 8 of 12 days this month on a map (and over 550 CPs for the year).

Strength 10:00 [1]
