Wood You Rather checkpoint trail race.

Sooo. Turns out I should not have raced this. Martin had a tummy bug that started Wed night (real bad), and my stomach was starting to feel iffy on the drive to the race. But not terrible yet, so raced. Felt like I couldn't push as hard as I wanted because my stomach hurt while racing. Then when I finished, my body went into full melt-down mode - uncontrollably shivering. So I skedaddled before awards, even though I came in second woman overall. Made it home (luckily a local race) took a hot shower, which still didn't end the uncontrollable shivers and went straight to bed. Awoke in full-on-misery stomach bug for next 24h (very worst first 12h) - only mild fever, but two stomach-emptying episodes.

The worst part: Tom and Sylvia swiftly succumbed within hours after me and so were were all sick at the same time and it's pretty hard to take care of a still-sick one year old and a heigh-of-sickness 4 year old while you're miserable yourself.

I do not want to relive this 24h period. But I'm guessing we'll have at least one more family gastroenteritis while the kids are little... so I'll optimistically hope for only one more?
