Orienteering 42:42 [4] 3.26 mi (13:06 / mi) +165m 11:19 / mi

Wheeee!! Exactly a year since last my last A-meet when I was ~3 months pregnant at Camp Sherman last year. Just great to be out there finding controls in the woods, really enjoyed it.

And, best thing, was I had no sharp or even dull pain at the pubic symphysis joint. It's really come a long way in the past month and I have lots more strength and agility to regain, but not having sharp pain when I do deep lunges or various other moves is a happy start!

Was rusty orienteering-wise, but my mistakes were all caught pretty early and so < 30s each, although there were a lot of them.

Also looked up from my map once to find myself in a thicket of poison oak. Now my right arm has it pretty bad...

Running 44:09 [2] 4.98 mi (8:52 / mi)

Lunch run with Todd. Did the Sellwood loop clockwise. Again a nice day if a bit cool. Great to chat with Todd and to get the run in!

Otherwise did midterm grades for 117 students. Blah, not my fav part of professing.

Running intervals 43:08 [2] 4.93 mi (8:45 / mi) +78m 8:20 / mi

Hmph. They are putting up a new dorm that gets in the way of the 1/2 mile hilly cinder track. It was a really great place for intervals, now less great. Did 3.5 min, 7 min, 7 min, 3.5 min. Some in the canyon to get more agility-running in.

Running 52:52 [2] 5.9 mi (8:58 / mi)

Back to rain. But, taking advantage of grandma babysitting to head out sans baby! Nice to do the Oaks Bottom loop - nice little bit of trail easily accessible from work, but definitely not stroller-friendly. Felt pretty good, getting tired at the end.

Entered NAOC, bought flights back from it at least. Still have to figure out if we're traveling there via an East coast trip or not... Need to get Sylvia a passport.

Biked around a lot on Tom's fixie, cause my bike has a flat. But I didn't time it or anything. We biked over to a Spanish-immersion daycare to tour in the morning after Sylvia got her 6 month shots (we left her behind with grandma to sleep them off). Seems like a nice place and they at least have spots for Sylvia to start 5 days a week starting next Sept, so going to go for it! Maybe Tom and I will incidentally learn some Spanish...

Sylvia is 6 months old! Crawling up a storm, pulling herself up on the coffee table, very active. We've started just a few solid foods and the pediatrician says just keep at it.

And... Sylvia's grandma arrived today! So great to have her help. I immediately took advantage and went out for a nice long trail run at Powell Butte on a gorgeous sunny day!
