1 min off, 2 min on-ish, with various but fairly low inclines. Who knew there was a Game Show Network? Commercials not geared toward my demographic.

And now in Arlington, VA, having headed down a day early to avoid the storm. After working in the local library (a happening place) all day, went back to Tom's friends house and headed out for a run in the snow/rain. At one point it was snowing snowballs (huge agglomerations!)

Found a hill in condoland and went up it several times, pushing it the last few.

Rowing 15:04 intensity: (5 @0) + (48 @1) + (14:11 @2) 3.5 km (4:18 / km)

After the run, said hi to overly friendly dog Barkley and then went downstairs for a row on their Model D Concept II. Very nice.

Running 1 [1]

NYRR New Year's Eve run in Central Park!

Well that's a shift. From middle-of-nowhere NY (Garnet Hill) to Manhattan in 12h, wowzer.

This was really fun. At some point, I decided not to really race it, but to stick with Tom and his sister and her boyfriend, enjoy the sights (fireworks, museums, people in costumes) and sparkling cider halfway through more. It was cold, but everyone was very merry, a great way to start the New Year!

Ski-O 1 [3]

Woo! First ski-o of the season at Garnet Hill by Aims! So happy to have found out about this (thanks Adrian), it worked perfectly into the plan to drive from Waitsfield, VT to White Plains, NY for the day.

A chilly one, so bundled up and refused to take off jacket or windpants, think it was the right call. Loaned a map holder for myself, then there was also an extra for Tom to try out and Aims even lent him no-wax skis, which I think made his exeperience way better than it would have been otherwise. (Icy -> klister = no fun).

I had a good race, it was definitely made more fun by the score-o nature, trying to figure out how to go about in the right order. Got Adrian by a few minutes, probably due to 2 major route choices. This stuff is so fun, and Tom had a blast too, he even suggested we try to go to Mendon Ponds for the meet in two weeks!

And a work day for people applying to jobs before Jan 1st... so Tom and I went out for a midday run, before the temperature plumeted too far. We first went up towards Mad River, turned around after enough hill and then ran some of the flats before I dropped him off at the covered bridge and ran up to the Mad River parking lot on my own. Becoming chilly!
