Super-rainy, so opted for treadmill. 2 x 10 min tempo. 1st at 6:40 pace, then 6:31, both felt good, perhaps a smidge to easy for tempo, which is good, glad I still have some being-in-shape!

Up to Teacup Lake for a ski day with Anita! Super-fun. Did some technique work with her at the beginning, then skated off by myself for awhile.

A round of classic. Fishscales worked great for kick, slow for glide, but probably needed some super-rills to make it better, mostly suction just slowing things down because it was sooo wet.

An actual decent training run. In cold rain nonetheless. Did 1 min speeds every 5 min, just to get legs moving a bit faster then they have been for a few months.

And then a ski on my own in the blizzard conditions! Nice to ski, lots of snow in my face. My fishscales were awesome in these conditions. (~30F and snowing hard.)

A 1h40 ski clinic I taught for beginner classic skiers as part of the Teacup Teaparty! Not sure exactly how much I skied, but something like 35 min sounds right. Some drills, some just watching folks ski and giving tips. Co-taught with Colby.

Hey look, Vancouver sprint camp is in 9 weeks! That's kinda motivating to at least pick up the training pace a bit.

Story of recent no/low training is another (bad) cold hit around the New Year. And I just don't feel like training through those these days.

A good note is that my pulmonary funciton test went well about a week ago. So I should be able to wind-down (illegal without TUE) steriod inhaler use!

Apparently, Sylvia didn't eat or drink much the WHOLE 5 DAYS I was gone in Hawaii. She was noticeably skinnier when I got back. That's definitely something to make a momma feel guilty for going to a work conference (she wasn't sick or anything, apparently just real sad I was away). =(

Elliptical as treadmills were full. Last day of American Astronomical Society meeting in Honolulu. Feel a little guilty of not doing much Hawaii-experiencing while I was here. But learned a lot and caught up a lot with colleagues all over, which were good things!
