Mama + Baby yoga. Almost the whole session - just had to feed Sylvia once. She even did some good tummy time during it!

Also- NAOCs and SART are both less time away than the length of my pregnancy! If my body can grow an entire other human in that time, should be enough time to get back in shape. #newmeaningto41weeks

Bah. So, back to exercise machines. The story is that my pelvis separated in front during the birth, which I didn't realize until last Wednesday. It's something that should heal on it's own, but was hurting more after jogs than otherwise, so I'm stopping trying to run for a bit.

Didn't seem any worse after biking, so at least I can do some aerobic exercise!

Woo! Sylvia's 2nd orienteering meet. Drove up to North SeaTac park with Anndy. No Tom to baby-trade with so hiked the short advanced course with Sylvia in the Ergo. Fun times. Didn't really make any mistakes, but the disk-golf open-er part would have been tricky at speed.

Sylvia traveled a-ok, but I felt bad that she spent most of the day asleep, since both the car and the carrier are somniferous.

Pilates with Sylvia. But she had her 2 month vaccines this morning and so was pretty gosh darn fussy. Got some exercises in, then fed her, got a few more in, then she started wailing. Went for a walk, and then Barbara was totally awesome and took over baby-walking for the last 10 minutes letting me get another set of exercises in. Hopefully next week she'll be better!

But, also, yay vaccines!

Pretty clean at my snail's pace. Got Tom, but behind Sue, Abra, Mike B. Felt ok, but definitely can feel the bigger steps up still.

Tom was around for the morning, so got to run midday between rain showers! Afterwards was the "off-the-record" person for a stats candidate over lunch - Sylvia was so well behaved, just camped out on the booth sofa seat at a Thai restaurant and let us talk. Hope it'll work just as well for the next 4 candidates...

Also: first time under 10 min/mi adjusted for climb! And I wasn't trying to go faster or anything. Still slow, but happy that felt totally fine during and just a bit sore afterwards.

Reed Pilates with Sylvia. She was cranky at the beginning, but that was because she needed to nurse, so did that then was able to join the class. Then she just hung out, awake and making baby noises!

Modifying lots of the ab work, but still can tell I'm slightly stronger. The things that are toughest are connecting through the core to only one leg - say bridges and then pick a leg up. Basically, I just can't do them so instead am isometrically transferring weight from one side to the others, because that should at least helps strengthen!

Mama-Baby yoga, but with Jimena teaching instead of Shana- less chatter, more yoga, liked it! But for reals, was more of a workout than usual, which was great. Sylvia was pretty low-key for all of it, helped to feed her right before class started, I think!

Training goal was memory-o, so to look once and then execute a leg without looking again. Did that pretty well, although sometimes was a wimp and went for memory-safer routes.

Lots of baby hiking - to new parents group then in to work for two meetings.

Sylvia was good for the first 50 minutes of an hour meeting, than I excused us to feed her quickly before the next meeting. She was mostly ok during the thesis meeting with my student, but was a bit fussy because then needed a diaper change. At least got through both, but underlines the fact we need some sort of childcare in the spring, having Sylvia in my office while I try to work isn't going to be a recipe that gets much work done!

Nope, that was too much too soon. I was super tired by the end of it and then pelvic muscles were sore the rest of the day, which makes just about everything less fun.

So - next run will be shorter and slower. Frustrating, but ok, it's nice just to be running and time will help!

Afterwards, Mt. Tabor walk with Shana's group. Yet another gorgeous fall day, we are being so spoiled, but I'm sure the rain will come soon...
