Orienteering (NSW Sprint Champs) 17:14 [3] 3.0 km (5:45 / km)

No flow going. Did a 90 out of 4 and ended up on the road, entered in random road and the lost map contact. Cool pass through to 7. Sloppy through 9-14 when caught up with Wayne. Couldn’t convince myself I was actually at 14 when couldn’t see the flag. Then the course was over!

Orienteering 30:13 [3] 3.1 km (9:45 / km)

SOS Pennant Hill’s HS Missed obvious route to 9. Couldn’t generate any real speed today.

Note

On reflection;-
Courses were a bit long. Underestimated the toughness of the terrain on the fragile city slickers
Set a control(212) too close to private land with a angry landowner to deal with.
Totally underestimated the number of people who enter on the day and ran out of maps on Course 5.
Everyone made it back - in one piece, sort-of a few grazes and bumps
Road crossing worked ok - thanks to Hamish and Amanda
iphone start clock app - speaker combo worked well. Like.
Had just right amount of volunteers and helpers - a real club effort, including our Canberra dual-citizen.

Crown Land licence application was messy as I had to follow up multiple times. Got in 3 weeks, although they state they have a usual 2 month processing time. As usual the noiseist gets seen first.

Council underestimated the size of the netball carnival and the fact it was on Sunday as well as Saturday.

Big Foot Div 1 : 2 in a row!!
Big Foot Div 2: in the final vs UR-CC

Orienteering 3:30:00 [3]

Placing controls at Lapstone. Met one angry neighbour who told me I was on his land and then agreed I wasn't on his land and so I placed the control and told him that there would be 50-60 people coming through here on Sunday. Looking at sixmaps most of the top gully is privately owned land and not part of Darks Common. Time for a map update as that guy hates friendly visitors to 'his' land. Why can't we have the same rule as Sweden here?

Orienteering 1:14:39 [3] 6.8 km (10:59 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X talon blue

Long at Belanglo. Felt pretty good with control flow and running except the green and hilly bits. Said g’day to the dirt bike riders.

Orienteering 57:12 [3] 4.1 km (13:57 / km)

Got to Wingello before realising I had no O Shoes. Managed a lend of Hamish’s shoes and had last start. Couldn’t get into the map early and had no real flow throughout. Confused by 2munmapped termite mound while looking for a termite mound at 10 andmajor error at 13 after passing the Garingal Hungarian train (all 4). Pretty steady to finish.
