I have challenged myself to run 1000 miles this year. Not quite up to scratch with january but it is the most i've run in a month in a very long time. Hoping it will pick up a bit now the boys are in nursery 2 days a week...

What a gorgeous day. Parked by Flynn rink and ran the rock circuit trail with a deviation to go and see cascade falls. So so nice to be out running in the sunshine and in only one thermal and jacket! The falls are partly frozen and just beautiful and the trail has stunning views over the cities. The trail lived up to its name and the first 75% was very rocky, it basically takes in every rocky outcrop possible. My legs were feeling yesterdays press class and were tiring on the rock steps part way! The last bit was easier running and it was nice to open up on the way back to the car. Lovely morning out. This is what daycare days should be used for :-D

So much work with the body including a lot of lunges of various types. My hip flexors are super tight still but hopefully this was good for them. The instructor for this class is great and I really enjoy it.

Listened to marathon talk and watched the virtual runner in New Zealand which made it a bit more bearable. The best I can do at the moment with alex away. At least the gym has a kids club!

At Healthworks. In 5 min blocks: 6 mph, 6.5,7,6.5,7,6.5 for 8 mins and 6. Still hate the treadmill but good to get a bit of running in. Found the fan at least today and the boys both enjoyed kids club although Ali failed to sleep so was in bits when I picked them up!

Babes in the wood hike from somewhere up in Winchester (gate 16). Beautiful sunny day and gorgeous hike in the woods. We don't go very far on these sometimes but the snow was tough especially when you can't see your feet!

Lots of squats and lunges, work with lightish hand weights and some killer core stuff to finish. Will definitely go back!

Then put Ali in kids club and went on the cross trainer. Would have liked to do more but just as well I didn’t as he’d been crying for 5 mins when I got back. Milk time!

Just a short one after a day at the museum of science then alex ran home. Almost dark when I went out and bitingly cold. Donned the balaclava and did a loop round Danehy park. Nice to get out but looking forward to it only being single figure negative temperatures!
