Rivelin hills un 1 with a bit of a detour in the middle. w/u 27.14 then 5:01 (5:19) 3:42 (7:53) 6:14 (17:51) 3:15 w/d 13:50
geeod session and felt a lot better than i expected to! must have been the coffee :) almost kept up with alex going up the coppice track...

nice long run with alex from heatherdene up winhill via the clough, along the back and to hagg farm, over to fairholmes, round the reservoir a bit and up to the multi junction then off the edge and back to heatherdene. longest i've run for in a very very long time. really good views and blue sky :) ran hard on the ups chasing alex (he did an extra one andwent up pike low in the midde and i kept going and got a 10 min rest) and steady together for all the other bits. this is what running is all about :)

walked round the wood playing hide and seek, picking mushrooms and jumping off rocks with jon and ewan. then walked up scolty hill with the chem engers and a buggy not designed for going up hills :)

run with sarah from dinnet round loch kinord and up a hill. really good views and soo nice to be back in scotland running in the heather and woods. really enjoyed it :)

attempted to do part of my course. bad plan. well, the orienteering was fun. but the cramps in my gut were not and as soon as i tried to go faster than a walk i was in so much pain i had to stop. so i walked round the first loop :) even that was a bit optimistic, i'd forgotton how slow walking is! very fed up of feeling ill.

today was supposed to be a rest day which was just as well as i felt shocking. hot and cold, headache and dodgy bowls. either too much sun yesterday or some annoying bug. decided canoeing would be a bad plan and fell asleep under a tree for 3 hours instead.
still rubbish in the evening and definately think a mean bug has inhabitted me.

mass start race. good fun as a good mix of girls with me, laura and pip, all teh french national team plus a few scandis.
we were a pack for most of the way bar a few route choices and almost everyone was in the lead at some point. made two misses in a row and managed to get behind just before the spectator. caught back two of the girls but the rest were well away so ended up 10th. would have been nice to still be in teh pack at the end but just too tired and it was too hot for me with no water!

today i remembered how to orienteer :)
had a really good, smooth run, not super fast but in control and cruised round to win with only a couple of small misses. feels good when you get it right :) and i won alex a t-shirt!

a good race at last!
mhairi ran a good first leg coming back in the lead, helen kept us near the top at teh front of the pack behind lithuania (2 mins ahead). unfortunately heather had a mare and came back 15 mins down in 10th. i ran hard and caught up to 7th but the others were just too far ahead.
