Cycling 2:34:00 [3] 77.0 km (2:00 / km)

Bilbys saturday ride - first one for a while. Cotter-Uriarra with quite a big bunch. Not as quick as it can be as we didn't have gary there setting a fast pace. I went a bit early on mt mac and paid for it when guy and nathan went past towards the top. A big rolling pace line along uriarra road sped things up a bit then it was onto the three sisters where the heads of state moved to the front again, nathan got away, but my diesel engine tactics meant I reeled guy in before the top. Sat in the sun at d'zire afterwards, the bacon and egg roll there is pretty good - and came with both halves of the roll at once.

Orienteering 1:33:31 [1]
shoes: brooks cascadia

I'd put my hand up to coach a blue lightning session at the mt ainslie event, so went out to put out a few tapes. Pretty slow as I spent a lot of time rechecking I'd put them in the right places.

Running 1:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: inov8 roadX 255

Lunchtime run with black hole and john fleming. Easy lap of blackie - good to be out in the sun for a change.

Running 50:00 [3]
shoes: inov8 roadX 255

A bit late at work, so rode home then ran over to UC where the bilbys were doing intervals - found the cars but no bilbys on the ovals, so jogged around UC a bit then headed home. I'd run fairly quickly from home to UC so decided that could count as the effort for tonight.

Bilbys warm up 35:47 [0] 2.94 km (12:11 / km) +1m 12:09 / km
shoes: X-talon 190

A longer than usual warmup as we had hanny doing some technique coaching - kind of a sales pitch for her coaching services, but good to think about technique for a bit.

Running intervals 15:43 [0] 4.12 km (3:49 / km) +2m 3:48 / km
shoes: X-talon 190

A short set of 10 x 300(100). Did them at a consistent 60s each, this was enough of a set after the weekend.

Running warm up/down 6:00 [0] 1.11 km (5:26 / km)

A lap of the ovals with guy and kate to warm down. Then stopped at woolies on the way home and bought some pies to make up for the ones that I didn't have after the long on sunday :)

Orienteering race 2:45:00 [4] 18.1 km (9:07 / km)
shoes: Oroc 340

A bit of an epic - I'd thought this one would suit me, but wasn't feeling that fast off the start. Shep came through at 2, and I hung on for a few then lost sight after about a third of the long leg. I stayed high on the track then dropped into it quite well, got a bit tangled in green going to 7 then had a good run through to 9 where I caught jimbo. Nearly did a 180 in my excitement at catching anyone then got it back together. Annoying mistake at 11 where I was on the right line but got distracted and went left. Recaught jimbo at 12 and had him around for the next few then got away when I took a track choice from 18 that briefly put me on the matt parton -brian keeley train. Was getting tired by the specator control and made a mess of 26, was in the right place but couldn't find the earth wall in the green. A QLDer came along and we eventually got it and then finished the loop. Definitely the longest O race I've done, and probably the longest time. Wasn't quite last.

Note

Spotted a car on bricks by the road driving to cessnock - my bogan experience was complete.
