Running 41:56 [4] *

Went for a trail run at Vasquez Rocks. This gave me the chance to put some climb into my workout. Although I stuck to a slow or moderate jog on the downhill and flats, the climbs were tough enough that it made it a strenuous workout. Since I didn't have biggins to protect me, I sang my "mountain lions please don't eat me" song while I ran.

Running 54:00 [3]

10min/1min jogging/walking - 5 reps. Not quite long enough yet to call it a "long" workout but I'm getting there. This was my first work-out since starting up last week where I didn't feel sore while running, so that's a good thing. Did the first and last rep on dirt roads and tried to stay off in low brush as much as possible for the middle three reps.

Running 30:00 [3]

Fairly slow jog. I accidentally forgot to wear my O shoes so I stayed on the dirt roads instead of going cross-country. More rabbits!

Orienteering race 1:08:34 [3] *** 4.5 km (15:14 / km) +180m 12:42 / km
spiked:6/10c

Green Course at Tahquitz Scout Camp. A very nice course. Some lack of contour detail caused a few errors, but not too bad. I felt fairly slow and was definitely walking the uphills.

Orienteering warm up/down (Control Pickup) 35:00 [1] *** 2.0 km (17:30 / km) +70m 14:54 / km

Picked up four controls after the Tahquitz meet. I just walked fairly leisurely through this.

Running 43:00 [3]

I love flushing rabbits in the morning! Slow jogging 10min jog/1min walk (4 reps) around the perimeter of the lot. Hot and slow, I was really dogging it by the end. Ran with my camelback, which I never do - I usually just wear it when hiking or mapping. The only time I did this before I had a really bad sore back as a result. Hopefully, that won't happen again, I've moved on to a slightly different model since then.

Running 30:00 [3]

My first training run at my new address and my first in a long time. There is a large bit of vacant land around and I went running through it. Mostly flat and open - short grass, with scattered bushes and Joshua trees. I expect to do a lot of training out there. Now that I've moved and am settling into a new routine, I plan to pump up the training volume.
