Orienteering race (middle distance gauteng c) 32:34 [5] 4.8 km (6:47 / km)
shoes: asics

BEST had so much fun. one of those races where you fall back in love with the sport. big red barn mistake ratio better than brads :D Mich finished 16 seconds ahead and paul 14.

started off with Mike, had a good start and found control thanks to Se and mike, tried to catch se to control 2 kept with her till 3 where we made different route choices. luckily found 4 before her and pushed to keep ahead. Made sure to pay attention for number 6 clearings in forests are tricky, found 7, 8 well. made silly choice by going through deep gully to 9. 10 looked on wrong spur initially.11 stopped for water. 12- long leg failure (that and starts my big prob) cut straight through found shallow depression before 12 and thought i'd gone too far( motto to follow for long leg : what would Michele do? haha take 3 seconds to make a plan and go with that plan) 13-16 good. 16-17(long leg brain fart #2) DONT CHOOSE THE LIGHT GREEN OVER WHITE. came right round settlement. 18 unsure whether I could cross cultivated land(YES YOU CAN), so went around 19 uphill slog. FASTEST FINISH!

Sick sprint champs, had fun read the map well checked for dead ends etc, could have made better route choices, but overall really enjoyed it. congrats to the Courtnage sisters! :)

So much better than the wilds, fastest finish split!
