Orienteering race 40:50 [5] *** 5.2 km (7:51 / km) +185m 6:40 / km
spiked:22/27c shoes: Inov8 Oroc 280

Middle distance champs for western cape.

Was really keen for this run. If I won it I would have been the middle distance champion in every championship, at the same time. Would have been like the tiger slam. Told myself that I would never give up, and im pretty happy with myself for the way I pushed through the whole course.

First mistake at 5 where I lost two minutes, then lost time at eleven, 18 and 23 and 27. I think winning time could have been a lot quicker.

Nice new map though and lots of controls which is always good fun.

CC at laurentia farm.

Not a very nice area. Quite a bad run all round, but the first half was better than the second. My mistakes on the first half didnt cost me as much because I was still positive and fresh.

After number 14, I stuffed up the rest of the controls going too slowly on the rocky terrain.

On almost all of the legs I would get into 100m of the control and stuff around. Need to get my confidence up.Hopefully next weekend will be a lot better.
