Orienteering race (The SA Relay) 19:03 [5] *** 2.5 km (7:37 / km) +70m 6:41 / km

The Relay!

I love relays so was looking forward to this one especially as I was in RACO A. I started the relay, in my team were Paul and Nico. I had got away fast and was spiking most of the controls. Me and eugene were dicing each other on the same course. I was leading until 6, where I went too far left and found the wrong control. Eugene punched it and ran off, later being disqualified! haha! I spent about 90 sec running around till I found the control, only after being passed by about three teams. At numba 7 I wasted 30 secs as a bit slow and loss of concentration after previous mistake. I spiked the rest of the controls and past a penoc team on the sprint down the road for the finish. Was quite disappointed with my mess up. In the end my team won! Yay!

Orienteering race 52:27 [5] **** 5.8 km (9:03 / km) +195m 7:45 / km
shoes: Salomon XA Comp 2

I wAS doing good until eightth control, the pit, I went quite slow as it was a pit but was not very lucky, should have used more features on left and not relied on the light green area. Got most controls right except for 12 where I was a bit high and wandered around a bit. Couldve run quite a bit faster and lost about 4 or 5 minutes altogether.

Had the Fastest finich split! 16 secs! :)

Orienteering race 21:10 [5] *** 2.6 km (8:08 / km) +45m 7:30 / km
shoes: Salomon XA Comp 2

Quite bad actually! couldve done much better! wasnt concentrating on number 2 and totally screwed it up!7 was bad mistake after going way too far left and hitting the wrong path. Wasnt watching the contours, the last quarter of the course I was good except for 11 where I took compass bearing and ended up 20 metres left of control. Could have cut about 3 min off my time, probably more.
