Started conservatively then sped up as I was feeling great. Even had 2 fastest splits at 8 and 9 ( must have been downhill). At 11 I was 5 minutes back from the leading 3 and 4 minutes ahead of Christie and Josh. The came the long leg to 13 and after looking at the uphill finish took it fairly easy. My energy was running out and lost lots of time in the last bit - lost 5:30 minutes to Christie over the last 850m.

Very happy with my 4th place in M50 - didn't expect to challenge Mike, Bruce and Brian in the long.

Good race for me, only small mistakes where going left to #6 might have been better. I saw Ian head off down the hill from 7, making a 180 error. Then Bruce caught me (4 minutes) and raced up the hill. From then he had a nightmare run and I got my 4 minutes back. Pushed really hard at the end and got 3rd by 9 seconds.

Still miles behind Ruedi and Mike.

Kept to a steady pace and walked the big hill. Was about 1:30 quicker than I planned to run. Improving!
