running race 4:18:29 [5] 36.0 km (7:11 / km) +1600m 5:52 / km

This is not an easy race around our little mountain. 1st leg through Deer Park on the slopes of the front table went OK with my Calf just holding me back a bit by preventing me from running smoothly. 40:46 happy with that split leg 2: The contor path to the Nek, had to walk the Aloes!!! but the rest was OK now lying in 3rd 55:30 total time 1h36:16 about 4min of the pace. last leg, the big one, I break this down into 6 parts: 1) down to the fence 13:09 only 30sec of pace, had to walk the last hill. 2) The contor to Suikerbossie and the turn up, 19:41 back at the right speed, still 3rd. 3) up and up and up, yes I was walking, but even if my legs were working I would be walking, I was just really slow. on the last climb to the fence I was past and at the top I was 5th. 32.23 lost about 8min... 4) The not so flat top to Kasteels last another place early on. Then had a couple of relay teams chasing me. 58:09 anoth 10-15min lost anothing up had to be walked and slowly, quads are shatted from 1st half and not using my calves... 5) down Kasteel 16:42 only lost about 3 min. 6) the Pipe track 4km of flatish to the finish. another 4 mins even the small steps were hard was past by anoth guy. finished 7th and 2nd vet last leg +_ 2h42. Legs still sore 2 day after event. Calf still the same!!!

After yesterday run I thought I was on the mend just in time to have a good crack at TMC on Saturday, so I put on my trail shoes and took to the track for a warmup and all felt OK so I lined up with the boys for 3 x 1000m, but after the firsy 200m I decided that 3:30/km wasn't good for my calf. did end up finishing the session, but was running 4:10's with one of the girls

So I'm still on the track running barefoot, today was 5km of tempo toes a bit sore now, but the barefoot running is over for the week.
