Teering race (Aus Champs) 54:11 [4] ***** 6.92 km (7:50 / km) +166m 6:59 / km
spiked:11/16c weight:77.4kg (injured) shoes: VJ Bold

Slap Up Creek, M55, 4th. Reality bites and the R foot was sore jogging to the start. Sure enough a couple of wrenches in the first bit of bush and I was unable to run properly after that. Just no platform to drive off - no stability and pretty sore. The bush was very pretty but rough underfoot with fallen timber and rocks so I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to.
Made mistakes too - at no. 4 (-1:15), 5 (-1:15), 6 (-1:30), 12 (-30) and 13 (-15) so how I managed to fluke 4th in a strong field is a mystery.

Teering race (Aus Champs) 14:51 [5] ***** 2.9 km (5:07 / km) +29m 4:52 / km
spiked:19/22c (injured) shoes: ASICS DS Racer

Canberra Grammer School, Sprint M55, 2nd to Geoff by 19 seconds. Have to be happy with that after 1 run in 6 weeks and the not fully healed injury. Wore the racing flats and up on the balls of my feet most of the time - didn't actually feel the foot during the race.
In the lead for the first half of the race and actually could have pulled this off had I got the left hand route to 6 (GrantM got 16 seconds on me there) or the first entry into 13 (GrantM got another 10 seconds there).

Bobbin Head via Shirley, Hiway, Mona Vale Road (13:36 for the climb).
Saw quite a big (1.5m?) black snake on the path at Grosvenor Road. It reared its head as I went by 30cm away.
Foot is still sore; there was a big yellow bruise yesterday am, extending up past ankle. That was probably due to Saturday's efforts. I will be running Saturday (Aus Champs Sprint) but will be very lucky to maintain my record (5 podiums from 5 starts in the event).

Lane Cove. Note the GPS is 200m out for the first km and thinks I did a lap of the roundabout.
