Orienteering race 11:14 [5]

DVOA Sprint at Penn State Berk campus

Very fast open sprint map which made for lots of hard running.

Was going to do the 2nd sprint, but it started thundering.

Orienteering race 35:24 [5] 5.6 km (6:19 / km)

JWOC Relay

For the most part it went extraordinarily well. Speed wise I was easily able to pick up and pass trains gaining several places.

I was clean for the most part until number 11 where I lost 30-40 seconds, but I caught the train again so it wasn't such a big loss of time.

The bigger problem was when I twisted my ankle I lost several places and caused me to finish a good minute behind the pack I was with because it threw me off my orienteering.

Overall really happy with this race and more importantly I had a ton of fun (other than my ankle).

Orienteering race 28:24 [5] 3.7 km (7:41 / km)

JWOC Middle Final

Went pretty well. I was happy with my navigation for the most part, but my legs felt a little slow compared the the previous day.

I ran it hard with intention to win the final, but disq on the quali means that your final race doesn't count.

Again, however, it was a good indicator that my speed and technical ability have improved a lot since last year and I hope to continue the trend the following year as well.
