JWOC Relay 1st Leg | TERRIBLE!
The beginning of my leg went really well! My split was only a minute behind at the 8th control, over halfway through and I could see the lead pack. Made a huge mistake the at end and kinda fell apart like what happened at the WOC relay. Definitely need to get in better shape to be able to get through these entire things without blowing up at the end. Otherwise it was really good!

JWOC Long Distance | 68th
This was one of the hardest races of my life. Goal was Top 60 so I made it pretty close, can't say that I didn't give it my all there was just a few mistakes early on in the course that probably came from the adrenaline. Too bad I didn't avoid those otherwise my goal would've been met no problemo.

I got too focused in the race that I read ahead and skipped control 4. Otherwise was an OK race that would've put me 12th or 13th in the B final ahead of some others (Swiss / Norwegian) that were surprisingly struggling this year.

First sprint training I actually did. Seems pretty easy, just going to need to run ridiculously hard. I'm worried about burning out after the sprint and not being able to run as hard in the Middle, but it's short so I don't see any reason to take it easy.

Stage 5 | Map w route | GPS tracking

REALLY GOOD. First and only training I took hard (probably too hard) since it was a simulated mass start / relay 1st leg.

I ran with a couple Spanish runners, Japanese, Ukrainians and others totaling at least 15 guys and I beat EVERYONE which was a surprise.

Navigation went fairly well. Big mistake at the end and on number 8 which were both from not paying enough attention because of how physical the courses are.

Really fun and awesome training though. Time to chill before JWOC.

Stage 4 | Map

This will be more similar to the long (although judging by the leaked map not TOO similar). I enjoyed this terrain quite a bit. Was making some small mistakes here and there which I need to smooth out before going into the races. Usually just entry and exit problems.

Again, this green is different but VERY bad. Medium green was sometimes impassable completely making for certain route choices being a complete gamble. Definitely not satisfied with how the vegetation is mapped but will have to work with it.

Contours are also not precise (you can kinda tell from just looking at the map they are very smooth usually) which is also very annoying but again I have to work with it.

This was really rough. Made a huge mistake to num 2 but I forgot to start my watch which is quite frustrating especially since I had very little idea of what went wrong.

Any green on the map had nasty thorns in it (which covers most of the map). Very difficult to run fast with thorns.

Technically not too bad, although I was going very slow, but I had difficulty reading the trails (hard to see) and also couldn't stick on a compass bearing at all through some of the green when it got thick.

Really nice map. Beautiful forests with small rocks detail that makes for very fun terrain. Traded off controls with Ben.
