Running long 2:47:00 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2160 #2

Run from East Linfield in Sydney that turned into a bit of an adventure and about an hour longer than I planned. Down a track through the bush to join the Great NOSH track about 2km in and followed it to Roseville Bridge. Crossed over to the eastern shore then headed north on the Lyrebird track. Crossed over some stepping stones and headed along Caroll Creek track. By this stage I thought I was heading west but I was apparently going north (no sun didn't help). I ran past a big pipeline that crossed the creek and after a while I came to a track junction that said Bungaroo track at some large sandstone stepping stones across Middle Harbour Creek. I crossed over an then followed some very indistinct tracks back on the other side of the creek back the way I had come until I was back at the pipeline. There was a very old car wreck in the bush so I assumed that there was a fire trail just above me - and there was! By this stage I had no idea where I was, so I followed the pipeline up the hill for a couple of km. The trackck eventually went behind some houses which meant I had a chance to work out where I was. I ran across an oval and out to Eastern Valley Way, but unfortunately I was right next to St Ives high school which was about 5km from where I was hoping to be. Followed the road south and down to the bottom of the first big gully, then up into the bush and some walking tracks through Bushranger Reserve to East Killara. Past some rugby games on the ovals then back to the main road and a very disused bike path. Eventually I turned off onto the fire trail near the start of the Great NOSH in East Linfield. I then just had a few km along the fire trail and some narrow rocky walking tracks to finish where I started.
