Event: Queens Birthday 3 Days

Orienteering race 52:55 [5]
Not too bad. Fairly clean through the first section of close controls, should have looked ahead to pick a clean line to 5 got stuck crossing the creek.
Struggle town up the hill through 7 and 8. Was worried about control 8 approaching very tentatively on a bearing but got it fine.
9 was fine but saw Cameron as I looked at the detail before going in, still in front of Cameron at 10 then we took alternative route to 11 (I seemed to be doing course 2 with my route choice passing three controls on the way to mine). How I got the second fastest split to 12 is beyond me. Caught up to Cameron here, he was pushing way to far right for 13 so I did my thing and focus on what I was doing. Saw a termite mound (might have been a tree stump) decided I had gone too far when I only had to go another 50 metres.
Slightly off direction to 15 and also poor exit out other than that fairly clean to 17.
