running race 23:53 [5] 5.0 km (4:47 / km)
slept:8.0 shoes: Innov8 Road-X 255

Edinburgh Park Run: Cramond
9.30. Ran the 5km race along the front with Carol and Alison. It was a nice 60 degF and cloudy day. Nice running weather compared to Philly. It was the 300th Cramond Park Run sons good turnout with over 620 people. Got pace out and increased on way back. Happy with time, but got a really sore sole of my right heel near the end, so hobbling after which is a bummer. Hope it goes away quickly.

Note

Had a fun time h making a batch of beer with family in the afternoon(150 bottles will be ready in 2 weeks. Then a house warming party at Audrey's in the evening which was fun to meet some relatives I hadn't seen in ages

Iced coffee was just the ticket. Cycling back at a decent pace until just at beginning of Manyunck, Caro got a puncture. Stopped and got it fixed then cycled home. A good ride considering how hot it was. Back 55.11 (less 1/2 mile walk to bike store

running 35:26 [2] 4.1 mi (8:39 / mi)
slept:6.5 weight:200.2lbs shoes: Aric's GT-2000 - 2015

6.10am: 73 degF, 71% humidity. A plod along the river enjoying the morning listening to Aaron Copelands ' Appalachian Spring'. Still have a bit of sore throat and pushing hard up underpass felt a shortness of breath. Not happy about that as don't feel that unfit. Shoes still giving me a blister. Odd how some do even though it is the same model I have had before. Not in good shape for S6D.

Stretching 10:30 [0]

Good stretch after run.

Cycling 1:17:57 [3] 16.25 mi (4:48 / mi)
slept:5.5 weight:199.8lbs shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

10.30am: We drove out to Valley Forge Nat'l Park to cycle the loop and gets some hills. Did 3 loops with Carol, 2 on path but quite a few folks on trail to slow one down, then the 3rd loop, on road for 50%. 24.43, 26.11, 27.03

Cycling 21:29 [4] 5.5 mi (3:54 / mi)
shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

After 3,laps, the ride was getting boring despite the view of the historic monuments. Carol opted for a walk/jog lap, I opted for a push hard lap.

Cycling 27:00 [2] 5.5 mi (4:55 / mi)
shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

Final lap at Valley Forge- stopped a couple times to admire statue and enjoyed a freewheel.

Dragon Boat Racing 1:00:00 [3]
slept:6.5 weight:201.6lbs

6.30pm: Not a full boat and some key paddlers missing. Coach in for Betty not nearly as good, but she had a really good drill - the alligator drill which really emphasized rotation which we are lousy at across the board. Not sure why everybody constantly wants to mess with our starts. Anyway practice rating 1 out of 5.

Cycling 42:30 [4] 11.5 mi (3:42 / mi)
slept:6.0 weight:199.2lbs shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

5.50am: Meditation as I pushed hard around the loop and down toSouth St Bridge was the brilliant victory of the USA women's team winning the World Cup. What a display of 100% commitment, dedication and the power of teamwork and belief. Fantastic. If only our politicians could take a lesson from this!!

Cycling 1:50:14 [3] 26.0 mi (4:14 / mi)
slept:7.5 weight:201.2lbs shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

9.40am: A perfect cycling day and way to celebrate birthday. Carol and I cycled out to Conshocken coffee shop and back. Out 57.30, back 52.44. Definitely feeling stronger as higher gear ratio is fine.

Preceded to come home make a smoothie then knock it over in back room and splash everywhere including the ceiling! Is this a omen for the future - cleaning floors, walls and ceiling!
