Cycling 46:05 [3] 11.5 mi (4:00 / mi)
shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

10.00am: Cold would be an understatement. 18degF with a good wind making it feel like 7degF! Cycled the lop and down to Douth Steet Bridge. Not many hardy folks out cycling or running along the river. Well wrapped with multiple layers, felt warm enough. Thank goodness I bought the Gore bike cap, makes a huge difference.
Month one and only hit cycling target, not even half the planned running target! Not that the weather has been too conducive to early morning runs as very cold and some hidden ice. Plus been really busy at work so tired.

Cycling 1:18:20 [3] 20.0 mi (3:55 / mi)
shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

10.00am: Cloudy day 37degF. Cycled the loop twice and down to South Street Bridge. Felt pretty good.

Cycling 54:10 [1] 11.5 mi (4:43 / mi)
slept:7.0 weight:199.4lbs shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

7.30am: Planned to cycle the loop twice, but the amount of ice made it crazy and not much of a workout, so just did once and down to South St Bridge on the path and back. Ironically the part with no ice was the new path bridges from Locust to South. They obviously did a good job designing the drainage as I expected it may have been one sheet of ice. Glad I waited until it was light before heading out as a lot of ice patches you would not have seen otherwise.

Cycling 1:15:15 [4] 20.0 mi (3:46 / mi)
slept:7.5 weight:199.6lbs shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

10.05am: a beautiful sunny, but cold 30degF (wind chill18) day so cycled the loop twice and down path to South St Bridge and back. Kept a good pace. Feet numb by the end. Felt good.

Thursday Jan 15, 2015 #

running 50:20 [2] 5.6 mi (8:59 / mi)
slept:5.0 weight:198.8lbs shoes: Ascis GT-2000

5.35am: a lousy nights sleep, woke up at 3.40 and never got back to sleep, so opted to get out for a run as 30degF so not as cold as last few days.

Stretching 10:00 [0]

Good stretch after run.

Tuesday Jan 13, 2015 #

Erg 15:00 [3] 3.39 mi (4:25 / mi)
slept:7.0 weight:198.4lbs

6.45am: Too cold to run first thing so did erg session. Sluggish in the middle section but a strong last 2 minutes. Resistiance level 10,202 calories burnt (almost one Milky Way!).

Sunday Jan 11, 2015 #

slept:7.5 weight:198.2lbs shoes: Ascis GT-2000

Cycling 1:22:30 [3] 20.0 mi (4:07 / mi)
slept:7.5 weight:198.8lbs shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

9.30am: Beautiful sunny day but bloody cold 20degF wind chill 6degF. There was a decent headwind on the way out. Some ice on the river. Cycled the loop twice and down to South Street Bridge and back. Thank goodness for the new Gore cap I just got to go under bike helmet, it worked wonders.

Friday Jan 9, 2015 #

Erg 15:00 [3] 3.34 km (4:29 / km)
slept:7.0 weight:199.8lbs

6.30am: Still too cold to run, so erg'd again. A pretty decent cadence. Resistance level 10, 195 calories burnt.

Thursday Jan 8, 2015 #

Erg 15:00 [3] 3.32 km (4:31 / km)
slept:7.5 weight:199.8lbs

6.30am: Too cold to run or cycle 10degF (-4degF with wind chill)!! Opted to erg instead. Had to stop briefly at 245 strokes as Ellie was barking and we were expecting someone.
Resistance level 10, 193 calories burnt.

Sunday Jan 4, 2015 #

running 49:07 [3] 5.5 mi (8:56 / mi)
slept:7.5 weight:200.4lbs shoes: Ascis GT-2000

9.30am: in between the dreary Scottish rain thought I'd get a run in, though I am catching a cold. Up the Parkway and along the river. Glad to have some good tunes to listen to along the way, though ran better than I thought I might considering having a cold. It certainly helped clear the sinus's and bit.

Stretching 10:00 [0]

Good stretch after run.

Saturday Jan 3, 2015 #

Cycling 1:15:14 [4] 20.0 mi (3:46 / mi)
slept:8.0 weight:200.8lbs shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

9.30am: got a sore throat and getting a stuffy nose, so opted for a bike ride as opposed to running. Cycled the loop twice and down the path to South St bridge and back. Used gear 3/6 the whole time and kept up a good cadence most of the way. It was chilly 37degF but wind chill just below freezing so it was hailing at certain points along the way. Felt good, now just to get rid of sore throat and cold.

Thursday Jan 1, 2015 #

running 1:25:02 [3] 9.5 mi (8:57 / mi)
slept:6.5 weight:200lbs shoes: Ascis GT-2000

10.30am: NewYear and the stats all start again. One stat that needs to be reduced substantially is my weight! I'd like to orienteer some more again this year and get back into the flow of it. This last year I did not manage to get into it, but seemed to struggle for a while with injuries. Onward to a new year and getting into ship shape, though not quite as unfit as I feared when last week Alison and I did 12.5 miles and I wasn't dead the next day.

So started the new year by doing the loop at a slow steady pace. It was chilly with wind chill below freezing, but a beautiful sunny day.
This will be the only day in 2015 when my total mileage will be greater than Alison's!

Stretching 10:00 [0]

Good stretch after run.
