slept:6.5 weight:196.8lbs shoes: Acis T222N GEL-NE033

6.45am: early run along the river, tired, but good to be out.

Note

Got a major workout doing stairs and moving furniture etc for 10 hours for our photo shoot of the GSK Navy Yard project. Exhausted by the end of the day.

running 35:04 [2] 4.1 mi (8:33 / mi)
slept:6.5 weight:196.8lbs shoes: Acis T222N GEL-NE033

Morning run along the river- finally above 40 deg in the morning. A slow run as did not want to have any hamstring or pulled muscles.

Map Hike 1:00:00 [1] 2.5 km (24:00 / km)
slept:6.0 weight:197.8lbs shoes: Innov8 (Yellow)

Elk Neck State Park, MD: Putting out the final controls, general helping and control pick-up. Seemed overall people enjoyed the courses. Glad they finally got used after 2 years. Big thanks to Tom Overbaugh for a great job as meet director and much more.

Map Hike 1:30:00 [1] 2.0 mi (45:00 / mi)
slept:8.0 weight:197.4lbs shoes: Innov8 (Yellow)

Putting out controls at Elk Neck with Tom and Dave and Kathy Urban. Felt great to be out in the woods again. Can't wait until my groin injury gets better - very frustrating not to be running. A lot of trees down which has made it tough in a few places seeing the land form between the downed trees and bushes. Had a nice surprise coming across a whole lot of wild daffodils.

Erg 15:00 [3]
slept:6.0 weight:197.2lbs

6.10am: As I can't run with my pulled groin muscle, and desparately needing exercise, time to do an erg session. Tired as I haven't stopped travelling this week for work, so went for a good consistent session level 9, 3150m 188 cals.

Map Hike 45:00 [1] 1.0 mi (45:01 / mi)
shoes: Innov8 (Yellow)

Elk Neck: putting out water at controls. I definitely need to get out orienteering more often.

running 13:40 [3] 1.5 mi (9:07 / mi)
slept:6.5 weight:196lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline AR7

4.30pm: felt the desire for a run, then disaster, by the eagle talon embedded in the penis statue, I felt my groin muscle pull again. This injury nonsense is getting very frustrating!!!!! Walked home.

running 46:19 [2] 5.1 mi (9:05 / mi)
slept:6.0 weight:196lbs shoes: Acis T222N GEL-NE033

5.55 am: woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep, so a run was in order. Decided I need to take it slowly for a bit and build up - fed up with pulled muscles and hamstrings. 9.47, 8.54, 9.03, 9.09, 9.26

Dragon Boat Racing 48:00 [4]
slept:8.0 weight:195.4lbs

11.00am: Start of a new season - In the dragon boat training pool at Main Line Health in Haverford. Endurance training 4 x 12 minutes with 2 mins break in between. Technique still there, but that fourth session was really tough as Kim ramped up the tempo. Definitely need to get on the erg machine more.

Saturday Mar 9, 2013 #

running 45:12 [3] 5.5 mi (8:13 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adreneline 2011

Needed a run, having spent the morning doing a 3 hour ergonomics exam - interesting as part of the online exam was multiple choice and the last few questions written. I have to say I much prefer written questions as multiple choice questions can be very ambiguous. Typically 2 questions are definitely wrong and then it is a question of which of the remaining two is correct. At the end they gave you the results for the multiple choice section of the exam - (did ok 81%), but one I know I put the right answer based on the expert the course constantly referred to only to find they said I had answered incorrectly. Now I have to wait a week or so for final result. How come every time you think you havevsat your last exam, another keeps cropping up!,
Anyway at 3.30pm decided to go for the 8.5 mile loop out Kelly drive over Strawberry Mansion, through the woods at Belmont Plateau, then home via West River Dr. A perfect day, sunny and 60 degF! Well all was going to plan until I just came out of the trails at Belmont Plateau when I felt the groin muscle twinge. Stopped immediately and had a 3 mile walk home. Very frustrating.

Later my pelvis felt really out of alignment. Time to get to Tony for an adjustment.

Cycling 39:40 [3] 9.5 mi (4:11 / mi)
slept:8.5 weight:196.2lbs

Cycling 37:39 [3] 9.5 mi (3:58 / mi)
slept:8.0 weight:196.2lbs

Decided a cycle was better as groin pull still not right. Cycled the loop - Bianchi on gear 3/7 - kept up a steady pace seemed there was a head wind for 75% of time! Still good to push the body a bit - it needed it. Only problem - toes were almost numb by the time I got home.
Good to chat with Alison on Skype and start to work out summer plans.
