slept:7.0 weight:196.4lbs (sick)

Lower back/hip feeling no better. Luckily got appt to see George (chiropractor) and yes I was definitely out of alignment. Felt a lot better, but will likely need a couple more visits.

slept:6.0 (sick)

A hurting body! My lower back/pelvis is totally out of alignment and can hardly even tie my shoe laces. It has been a stressful week and my back was a little sore yesterday after cycling, so no exercise today.

Cycling 37:07 [3] 9.5 mi (3:54 / mi)
slept:8.0 weight:195.6lbs

6.40am: A beautiful morning -cool and sunny so opted for a cycle around the loop. Used the Bianchi hybrid, pusehed pretty hard. Interesting to see the gear ratio difference to a regular road bike as on the way back from Falls Bridge some commuter passed me and he was pedalling at a less revolution rate compared to me and was moving faster. 19.38 to Falls Bridge, 17.29 back home.
A good workout and a gorgeous day and way to start the day.

Erg 15:00 [4]
slept:4.5 weight:196.6lbs

6.30: crappy nights sleep- very humid, so up early for a good erg session pushing hard. (3360m 198 cal) before heading to NYC for a presentation.

Erg 15:00 [2]
slept:8.0 weight:196.8lbs

6.30am: Decided it was time to start doing some 'erging' again, so a medium pace for the first 10 mins then picked it up for the last 5 mins.
(3160m - 176 cals burnt)

Sunday Aug 26, 2012 #

Cycling 1:48:05 [3] 24.0 mi (4:30 / mi)
slept:7.5 weight:196.2lbs

8.30am: Decided to cycle to the far end of Forbidden Dr in the Wissahicken Park. A nice sunny and not too, humid day. 20.27, (Fall's bridge), 21.31, (valley green),11.27, 4.55(rest at NW ave and pump up rear tire a bit), 9.45, (valley green) 20.18, (Fall's bridge) 20.13
Kept up a reasonable pace- the real knobby tires on the orange mt bike certainly make it slower in the asphalt. It was nice light along Forbidden Drive.

DVOA Event: Tyler State Park - Red Course 8.2km, 115m climb
Planner: Karl
Decided I should run red as the park is fairly fast and not too technical. Karl did a nice job mixing in some sprint type legs 2/3 of the way around Montgomery Community College Campus. Definitely out of shape, hesitating and having to stop to really read the map. Need to either start working on using the magnifier with the compass or work on the eye exercises from our neighbor Richard.
Had a problem 7-8 and came in too far west, then bigger issues 8-9 when took the path on the other side of stream and got caught by a fallen tree so had to backtrack which was a little frustrating- the pleasures of orienteering. Mainly just couldn't get the body to move much faster. That said it was fun and great to be out and see DVOA folks again.

running 37:09 [3] 4.6 mi (8:05 / mi)
slept:6.0 weight:195.4lbs shoes: Acis T222N GEL-NE033

6.30am: Starting raining as I got to 23rd street but it felt very refreshing and good to be out. In fact when it stopped it felt more humid, though at least the temp has dropped 72 degF - 8.51, 7.59, 4.01, 7.55, 8.22 (includes
D water stop at Lloyd Hall)

Edinburgh Festival - Speed of Light , Arthur's Seat.
Had fun with Alison and Lauren a friend of hers as guest participants in the Speed of Light Performance. It involved wearing an LED light suit and jogging around a set route on Arthurs Seat in a team of seven people as one of many teams in a choreographed light performance. The LED light colors and motion were controlled remotely. Poor Elspeth was acting as a marischal that night on top of the Salisbury Crags and it was pretty chilly to be sitting there all evening. We were part of the 2nd performance from 11.30pm - 1.30am.
A lot of fun, but it would have been nice to have the opportunity to see the performance from Arthur's Seat as well
