Up early and cycled the loop before the snow started. Quite a head wind going out West River Dr - almost blown to a standstill on one occaision. 3-7 on west river dr, 3-9 on kelly drive on the way back. Good to be out for decent exercise. Looking forward to running again

Traditional family Christmas walk in the Wissahicken. Out along Forbidden Drive from Valley Green and along the trails on the way back. Then was very restrained for Christmas dinner.

running 25:00 [2] 3.0 mi (8:20 / mi)
slept:7.5 weight:196.5lbs

Okay, I thought I was back into training after the bike ride on Sunday seemed to stretch my calf. went to TNT with Alison. Had a good run with Karl down to the Wissahicken and along Forbidden drive, but my calf started acting up again so stopped at Sandy's turn off and walked back up to the Ahlswede's. Bummer.

walking 16:00 [1] 1.0 mi (16:00 / mi)

Walked up the hill from the Wissahicken to the Ahlswedes. Not happy to be back to square one. Think it is time to go to a physio to find out the real isse.
An excellent TNT dinner - the bean soup especially. Good to see everyone.

Cycling 1:10:00 [3] 18.25 mi (3:50 / mi)

Couldn't stand not having any exercise any longer, but calf not 100% better yet. Felt good to be on the bike. Did the loop twice, though by the end my feet were totally numb. The ride seemed to stretch out whatever the issue in my calf was as it now feels fine.

Went for a massage to see what I had done to my calf. Turns out I have strained the solo muscle - I need to look at an anatomy diagram to undestand better.

Orienteering race 54:32 [4] 6.2 km (8:48 / km) +265m 7:15 / km
shoes: Innov8 (Yellow)

DVOA Event - RIDLEY Creek, PA
Last event of the year and a cold one at that with 2 river crossings!. An excellent course by Hugh MacMillan using the best part of the woods on the east side of the creek. No real navigational errors - maybe a slight one betwee 9 and 10 when I was too far to the left. Felt clean, just couldn't get the body going any faster on the hills so walked more than I should have. Tom Overbaugh got me by 43 secs.
Alas no events for a bit unless we go to the Georgia Navigator in Jan.
