running 43:14 [2] 5.0 mi (8:39 / mi)

Morning run along the river. A beautiful sunny day with a bit of wind on the way out. At last the sore throat seems to be finally going and sinus cold lessening. 8.59, 8.08, 4.05, (0.58 removing jacket as too hot), 3.58, 7.51, (1.00 waterstop inside Lloyd Hall), 8.19. Felt good to be out, thought tired going up the small hill at end of Schuilkyll River Park.

running 34:24 [1] 4.0 mi (8:36 / mi)

Finally had the energy to get out for a run. Dreary drizzly day, but needed to start exercising. Felt like the "Tin Man" for the first mile. Stopped at Lloyd Hall on the way back.

walking 1:00:00 [1] 3.0 mi (20:00 / mi)

Christmas tradition to go for a family walk along the Wissahickon. Still a fair amount of snow around which was very pretty - some great icicles as well. With Ellie and her little legs we stayed on Forbidden Drive. Ellie loved the chance for a good run.

Skating 1:00:00 [1]

Alison's 18th birthday. Omn her birthday she likes to go skating in the evening so we had fun at the Blue Cross rink by the Delaware River.

Still snowing first thing - a good dump of snow, finally feels like Christmas
Sore throat and drained of energy

Note
(sick)

Got a nasty sore throat, which was a real bummer as we had a major snow storm - got 22 inches, but didn't feel like running or x/c skiing in it early in the morning before it got too deep.

Orienteering 49:16 [3] 5.3 km (9:18 / km) +160m 8:05 / km
slept:7.0 weight:195lbs shoes: High top 2

DVOA Final regular event of 2009 - Camp Horseshoe (PA/MD border)
Green Course
Cold about 40degF with a bit of a wind. From yesterday's snow there was some frozen snow on the ground in places so with the rocks it slippy in places. Had a hard time concentrating and thinking ahead in detail.

running 41:13 [1] 4.5 mi (9:10 / mi)
slept:6.0 weight:194lbs shoes: Asics 2140

Early morning run along the river (5.45am) A balmy 65degF but a strong wind so didn't feel that warm. Woke up at 5.15 and felt the urge to get out which is a good sign. Just past a full moon still high in the sky, so great silhouettes with clouds moving past. 9.53, 8.55, 4.27, 8.25, (0.50 waterstop at Lloyd Hall), 8.44.

running 40:42 [1] 4.5 mi (9:03 / mi)
shoes: Asics 2140

Early morning run along the river: 5.30am 37degF: Woke up wanting to get up and run which is a step in the right direction compared to the lethargy I've been feeling recently. Full moon made it pretty light at that time.

running 45:18 [1] 5.0 mi (9:04 / mi)
shoes: Asics 2140

Early morning run along the river (5.35am). First chilly start 35 degF, but no wind so it felt fine. Plan at the moment is just to get out running however slow it is. Although still dark watched an almost full moon set with a beautiful reflection in the river. A good start to the day.
