running 26:27 [2] 3.1 mi (8:32 / mi)
slept:8.0 weight:196.4lbs shoes: Ascis GT-2000

8.30am: another beautiful sunny day 75degF. Body feeling beaten up after yesterday's massage and just drained. It was definitely a plod. Need to get to The chiropractor as body is out of alignment. Very frustrating at lack of energy to do a decent run.

Stretching 11:30 [0]

Good stretch after run.

running 35:57 [3] 4.1 mi (8:46 / mi)
slept:7.5 weight:196.8lbs shoes: Ascis GT-2000

9.00am: beautiful sunny day, 78deg F. Nice in shade but already too hot for me in sun. Woke up early with dehydration headache, so by time went out running had ready drunk 40fl oz of water, but still felt it. Felt like I was plodding. Ok for not having run in 3 weeks acceptable, but only just!

Note

1.00pm: a much needed massage. Neck and leg muscles in particular were totally tight.

Dragon Boat Racing race 45:00 [5]
slept:7.5 weight:198.4lbs

Dragon Boat Festival:
3 races: first race time 2.07. Ok river running pretty well and course apparently only 475m as opposed to 500m. Not too bad for first race, but as only 4 teams per race we only made the B Division. Considering we had 6 or more newbies, we did pretty well. Race 2 we did 2.08 but only got B conciliation race. Final race our timing was off and we had a dreadful steers person which didn't help keeping us straight. Poor final race which was disappointing, but still a fun day with a fun group of people.

Cycling 38:19 [3] 9.5 mi (4:02 / mi)
slept:6.0 weight:197lbs shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

5.20am: Another beautiful morning. A steady pace, out West River Drive, back Kelly dr. A nice early morning calmness, sculls and dragon boats on the river, quiet without the steady stream of cars, a sweet smell off the trees and topped by a great dawn reflection of the sun rising off the Comcast Tower. The right start to the day.

Stretching 11:00 [0]

Good stretch after cycling.

Orienteering race 50:16 [4] *** 4.9 km (10:16 / km) +132m 9:02 / km
spiked:13/slept:7.5 weight:196.8lbs shoes: Innov8-2(Yellow)

10.40am: DVOA Event- SPRINGTON MANOR FARM - Green Course.
Nice to run in a new area to me. An interesting little park, map 1:5,000. Wyatt Riley set a good course with quite a lot of route choice. Not really any navigational problems 1-6. Out of 6 must have gone out too fast on the wrong angle so hit wrong trail and ended up cutting through some thicker green vegetation and once on trails didn't take the direct option. Interesting the magnify wasn't much use as strong reflections off the sun. 7-8 took the north option to the field and back south into control. No problem and it showed me the way out to 9. No navigational issues the remainder of course.
Was tired by end. Need to work on the following: not reading ahead enough so stopping at control to quickly work out next leg, talk about throwing away time!
A beautiful day - it was a lot of fun.
