Sunday May 8 #

Note

Had thought I was actually going to get through my whole week’s training, but had issues trying to set up my bike and Zwift so my daughters can ride it. By the time it was finished, it was time for dinner, on top of being dark and raining steadily, so I gave up.

Saturday May 7 #

2 PM

Zwift 1:37:33 [3] 67.59 km (1:27 / km) +3m 1:27 / km
shoes: Avanti Blade

Still trying to get legs to remember what cycling is. 199W average. Was a 100 group ride, but I thought trying to go for that long at this point might be counterproductive.

Thursday May 5 #

3 PM

run 1:37:52 intensity: (27 @1) + (41:49 @2) + (55:36 @3) 18.43 km (5:19 / km) +78m 5:12 / km
ahr:139 max:157 shoes: Tarkine Goshawk

Not fun at all.
First half my lunch kept trying to say hello and it was hot and humid, second half my legs were shot.
Started to feel left achilles at about 14km. Meed to be careful while ankle is not 100%

Wednesday May 4 #

Zwift 1:00:00 [3] 38.0 km (1:35 / km) +112m 1:33 / km
shoes: Avanti Blade

C grade steady group ride. That’s about all my legs were up for tonight, so worked well.

Tuesday May 3 #

5 PM

run intervals 1:01:35 intensity: (1:21 @1) + (10:30 @2) + (15:20 @3) + (34:24 @4) 13.41 km (4:36 / km)
ahr:156 max:177 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline 20.2

WU
Nominally 3x3km @ 4:10’s with 400m slow jog recoveries.
Track was, as always soft and soggy, bit at least the lanes had been re-marked. Ran a bit quick, and 4:10 was probably a bit quick for what I wanted to achieve.
Oh well… 90 minute half marathon in less than 3 weeks could be a challenge…

Monday May 2 #

5 PM

run 38:52 intensity: (40 @1) + (16:55 @2) + (21:17 @3) 7.78 km (5:00 / km) +19m 4:56 / km
ahr:138 max:155 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline 20.2

Failed in my attempt to not speed up at the end.

Girls start training at school tomorrow- twice per week on days that I usually run. Will be interesting to see if I have the motivation/discipline to switch my routine around or not.

Ankle isn’t much of an issue, but there is a distinct sore spot on the medial side under the ankle when I poke around. Better keep tabs on it.
