A bunch of guys from the running club were going to be running the Gold Coast marathon today, before Covid messed things up. They hastily threw together a local replacement, complete with drink stations. I decided to join them rather than doing a solo long run in the afternoon. Wasn’t sure I wanted to ‘race’ so didn’t warm up - just started running rather than jogging felt ok, so kept going. Got the pacing pretty right for my current level of fitness, squeezing just under 90 minutes when I passed HM distance. Feel more confident of surviving a 27km trail run in 2 weeks now :)
