Zwift 30:20 [2] 16.26 km (1:52 / km) +46m 1:50 / km
shoes: Avanti Blade

An easy half hour on the bike in the shed on the flattest Zwift course possible to make sure that gentle exercise doesn’t disagree with my heart.
Early signs on Flecainide are promising, but have had occasional tiny flutters still during the day, so may need to tweak dose.
No issues exercising so my Easter entry is going in! Will do a few more rides, gradually working a bit harder, then graduate to a jog around the oval next to my house.

Note

Different day, different doctor, different solution.

Apparently the ‘pauses’ from my monitor reading are not particularly uncommon or concerning and the AF component can be managed with medication.

2 pills per day beats heart surgery. No side effects so far and have had most settled heart for weeks today, so hopefully not too much fiddling. with dosages necessary.

Still need to have a cardiac MRI just for box-ticking. Not expecting to find anything.

May even wase back into some gentle exercise by the end of the weekend! Happy days.

Bugger.

I’ve posted more elsewhere but the bit in bold at the end of the cardiology report probably sums it up.

“Appearances suggestive of sinus node dysfunction ie: “tachy-brady syndrome”. Specialist review and consideration of pacemaker are recommended.”

Note

SoI got a call from my doctor today. “We’ve got your cardiology results and you NEED to make an appointment either today or tomorrow.” Not sure that this sounds too encouraging. Hoping they’re just in a hurry to give me the all clear.
Of course, when I tried to book an appointment last week preempting the arrival of these results, I was told I could get an appointment on April 12. Telling them it was for cardiology results got me an appointment tomorrow afternoon, and given I’m in Perth today anyway, it’s fair to say I was one step ahead. Had ro point out to them that I already had the appt. booked...
