run 49:35 intensity: (10 @1) + (4:03 @2) + (44:46 @3) + (23 @4) + (13 @5) 10.27 km (4:50 / km) +35m 4:45 / km

Another evening jog, only just getting off the dirt tracks with enough light to not stress overly about rolling an ankle.
Rhythm felt good again.
I wonder how much of my HR staying steady for a whole run now is down to increased fitness and how much is due to the significant drop in temperature compared to a month ago. Either way, running is feeling more enjoyable again, and my legs aren't sore before/during/after every effort.

Roll on 4pm tomorrow. Then perhaps I can properly relax.

Evening run from the foreshore along to the lighthouse, then back home. Wasn't expecting great things, but put the radio on and listened to St Kilda demolishing Richmond (14 goals to one at half time).
Rhythm felt good, running felt relaxed and pretty easy. Wish I could bottle that feeling.

cycle 50:00 [3] 22.0 km (2:16 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Cruise towards Drummonds till I met Caleb and Gav, then rolled back into town, where Gav decided we should be real cyclists and stop for a coffee. Probably overkill after 16km, but it was nice to have a chat regardless.

Monday could be the big day to end weeks of uncertainty.

run 31:42 intensity: (21 @1) + (3:51 @2) + (16:10 @3) + (11:20 @4) 7.16 km (4:26 / km) +39m 4:19 / km

Short little trundle around the burbs in rapidly fading light. Softer surfaces would have been more enjoyable.

Apparently there was a sudden jump in my HR when I consciously slowed down. Think the reading is a bit dodgy (again)

cycle 1:00:00 [2] 25.0 km (2:24 / km)

Bike to Drummonds, trying a bit, but with uncooperative legs. Cruise back to school with hte boss.

Note

Biggest cycling year since 2012... doesn't say much...
4 PM

run 52:10 intensity: (25 @1) + (16:59 @2) + (34:46 @3) 10.45 km (4:59 / km) +35m 4:55 / km
ahr:141 max:154 shoes: Saucony Triumph Iso2

Similar loop to earlier in the week, except I headed south on the soft sand along the edge of the sewage treatment plant rather than on Jenark Rd.

Both heels a bit niggly for much of the run. Didn't feel super sparky, but OK.

cycle 1:56:51 intensity: (6:12 @1) + (15:33 @2) + (1:17:45 @3) + (17:21 @4) 50.59 km (2:19 / km) +215m 2:16 / km
ahr:147 max:176 shoes: Avanti Blade

Early afternoon ride around Gero with Caleb. Glorious winter afternoon. Not much breeze, roads had dried out after the overnight rain. Fun times.
Threw in a couple of surges, which I'm really not used to on the bike. Average speed would improve marginally if I put autostop on my watch.
