Had hoped to get this run done in the early afternoon, but being invited out for lunch put that out of the question, so an evening trot around the burbs to get the last of the week's kilometres in the bank.

All good, but makes it more likely that shifting the weekly rest day to Wednesday will be put off for another week...

This was a run that I was not looking forward to in the slightest. I had a much needed sleep in this morning, only to wake to a cool, breezy morning that would have actually been nice to run in.
Spent the morning cleaning the house, then felt absolutely wiped all afternoon. Flat and lifeless and was still feeling that way as I put the kids to bed and got ready to attempt a jog.
I had figured that if I could at least struggle through 8km, then if I woke up feeling great I might still be able to tick of the km's for the week.
So off I went, and after 500m, I had found a reasonable rhythm and didn't feel too bad. A couple of km in and I was moving the best I had been all week and was feeling OK, so thought I would run as much of the foreshore as possible along paths, seeing as it was dark, which gave me the option to bail as I came back past the end of Mark St, which I guessed would be 8-9km in. Was still feeling good at that point, so kept going.
Ended up being the best longish run that I've done in a long time. Didn't see that one coming.

Trot out to and around the athletics track to see how long a warm-up it would be to run to the oval for a track session. Threw in 4 x 200 surges while I was there. Still feeling pretty ordinary at the start, but OK in the second half.

Rather lacklustre jog to the Esplenade and back. Not sore, just tired.

Spent much of yesterday wondering why my adductors and hamstrings were getting sore and tight, having not done any different running recently. Then it clicked - playing catcher in school softball lesson - does it every time!

Had hoped to shift the rest day to Wednesday, but didn't sleep well Sunday night, so it stays where it is this week.
Bog standard Esplenade loop. Warm and humid again. Blergh.

In other news, grant application to map Geraldton High Schools was approved, so now I just need a friendly Juffy type individual and I can start pondering some interschool competition up here :) ... coz I don't have enough work to do already.
