run tempo 53:50 intensity: (5:00 @1) + (17:00 @2) + (31:50 @4) 11.8 km (4:34 / km) +6m 4:33 / km
shoes: Saucony Mirage 2

5 x 1 mile tempo (4min/km), 1 min walk recoveries.
Legs weren't really up for this, but not much chance of getting out tomorrow.
Probably worked a bit too hard to hold the magic pace, really struggled to keep it consistent. Legs felt pretty empty on the uphill cool down trudge. Been a while since I ran three days in a row, particularly with 2 'interval' sessions.
Probably should have finished my reports on time instead, but nobody will look at them till Monday...

run 32:07 [2] 6.64 km (4:50 / km) +58m 4:38 / km
shoes: Saucony Mirage 2

And part 2... the recovery run. Would have been nice to fit it in a bit earlier. Tomorrow's run is going to be a tight squeeze somewhere...

Legs felt a bit better than expected, but a couple of tight spots in the hammier. Was not tempted in the slightest to kick a football while on lunch duty today.

P has taken the kids to Perth for the second half of this week. That makes training easier than last week, when she was in Perth and the kids were with me :) So, I finally got out for a run.

200, 200, 400m all at R pace with equal distance recoveries x 5.
EDIT: Except in one set I forgot the second 200, which explains why I could;t figure out the total number of splits on my watch when I was finishing the session...

My R pace is currently about what interval pace used to be, which is a little bit sad. How much can I improve in 3 months? Will I fall apart? Will I just run out of time and motivation? Who knows, but it's worth one more crack at getting running well. That said, I have no great interest in flogging myself through any long distance orienteering races of a prep this short, especially one that will essentially involve zero terrain running.

And just because I can, I'm actually starting with some faster stuff to try to get the running efficiency up before I start killing myself with the harder intervals later...
