run 25:00 [2] 3.5 km (7:09 / km)
shoes: Saucony Cortana Fluoro

3 runs through the beep test with Yr 9 SPE class. The boys sucked, but the girls, although none outstanding, were a really solid group. Should be a good class to work with. After fitness testing, we start playing netball, so I have a funny feeling the girls are going to give the boys a bit of a hiding.

Achilles annoying in the first run through, but OK after that.
Playing an hour of badminton with Yr 12s later in the day may have been a step too far.

The competition rules in Gero are stupid and out opponents took things a little too seriously. Touch is 6 a sir. Mixed touch requires at least 2 girls on the pitch. We had 6 guys and two girls. No problem, right? Oh - but wait - if you only have 2 girls turn up, you can only play with 5 on the field??? So if our third girl (who was sick) turned up and just sat on the bench for 40 minutes we could have played with 6...

Anyways, upshot of it all is that we played short for the third game in arrow, got smashed 13-3 and I only got to play about half the game. I dod score my first try for the season though, and also dropped one with a clean run at the line from about 2 metres out. D'oh.

run 17:00 [2] 3.0 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Saucony Cortana Fluoro

2 runs through the beep test with 10 SPE class. They were pretty abysmal. If that's the level of our sportiest kids, I'm not really looking forward to inter schools. Best 'endurance' athlete in the class is a 100m-400m runner, but is obviously the only one in the class who does any training to speak of.
