Actually did the long run that I slept through yesterday. Home to the coast and north to Mullaloo surf club and return.

Started super easy and generally felt OK throughout. A little achilles niggle around 20km, but it only lasted a couple of minutes. One bottle of water, 1 of powerade and a carboshot at halfway. Probably need to eat a bit more if I want to run another 14km without falling apart at the end.

Took 4km to ease into it (started out about 5:30, then a few km sitting on about 5:00) before settling into a rhythm in the mid-high 4:40's and stayed there for most of the rest of the run. A few km a bit faster, a few a bit slower depending on climb.

shoes: Hoka Rapa Nui

Sand tracks north of Jindalee and return along the beach until I hit the north end of the Jindalee cliffs. Lots of the tracks are softening up, so pretty slow progress. Much easier coming back on the firm sand near the waterline. Breathing seemed OK relying just on ventolin rather than the symbicort as well, so must be heading in vaguely the right direction.

Two consecutive days of running combined with 3 days of basketball and some touch rugby has left my achilleses a little fragile. Time to get back on the eccentrics and stop being lazy.

Haven't taken asthma medication since Thursday (or run) and hoped things had cleared up enough to get away with it. Nope. Fine at start, but got progressively worse as I went. Could still run, just that everything feels harder than it should for the pace I'm going.

In other news, my training is so consistent at the moment I'll be lucky to remember to turn up for the 6 inch.
