Quads have improved heaps today. Have progressed through being able to pick up things off the ground, to getting up some steps without using a handrail, to being able to sit down and get back up again without using my hands.
Calves, on the other hand, are pretty trashed still, making walking normally pretty impossible. Not overly surprising. They had been tight enough for me to be running with the heel raises in for a few weeks (other than the orienteering race the day before the marathon...) but they didn't bother me at all during the marathon. They were the bit I was expecting might become limiting, hadn't really contemplated the quads packing it in at all.
Hope to be jogging again by the weekend, but no huge rush I suppose.
