Out in the bush for the first time in a long time. Jogged up the hill, putting out a couple of tapes on the way. Not convinced I'd gone to the right place at first, but it turns out I was just misplaced along the way to the first one, which is why it took some adjustment closer to the control site.
4 short loops on offer, focusing on attack points (didn't do that loop), compass (1st), Contours (2nd) and Relocation (3rd)
Missed the 2nd control on the first loop. Took till I was on the second loop to realise that this was because I had gone to the wrong first control. Felt like a struggle with fitness in general, trying to run smoothly in terrain and trying to read the map without a long stationary period but it was fun. Gotta start somewhere.
Probably improved a little as I went. No real issues with the achilles although I felt the left one a few times in the middle loop. Seem to have pulled up well, but I'm going to have blister issues with the braces until the heel raise comes off my orthotics.
