rehabilitation 15:00 [1]
shoes: barefoot

The usual. Watching a bit of Bathurst action.
8 PM

paddle (Heirisson Island loop) 52:47 [2] 7.5 km (7:02 / km)
shoes: Spirit PRS plastic

My weekend of strange activities continued with a little paddle after church and putting the kiddies to bed. First paddle since some time last year (apart from in a double canoe on Yr 11 camp) and first outing ever for the Danger-supplied paddle. felt a little tippy for the first few minutes, then pretty good for about 20, then started to wish I'd opted for something even shorter for a reintroduction to this silly pastime. Long enough to get a blister on my left hand as usual.

Wasn't going to do these, as I'd already 'trained' twice for the day. Then it occurred to me that whilst cycling may use the achilles a bit, paddling not so much.

cycle 2:50:00 [4] 77.0 km (2:12 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Thought I'd ease my way back into riding with a gentle little weekend roll with Andre and the AR mob. Apparently this was their medium loop. From Dalkeith with Andre out across the Causeway, out Welshpool Rd, through a whole load of roads I don't know to Mundaring Weir road and back to Kalamunda. Won the welshpool rd climb after Marcus cramped 2/3 of the way up despite soubling back at one point coz I didn't know where I was riding to. Forgot how long the Mundaring Weir road climb was and lfet myself with too much to do in too short a time after letting Joel get away at the end of the flatter section.
Thought I'd done the hard work when we stopped for coffee and a pastry (more upmarket than the TTAC rides) but the pace was pretty insane once we were back on the flat. I never got to the front and had to bust a gut a few times to close down some gaps that opened up one or 2 riders in front of me.
Cruised through to the end with Andre, then my legs gave up on the tiny incline on the Avenue up to Birdwood, all of about 300m from the end. Nearly fell off when I got halfway out of the saddle and my quads said no.
Good fun. Might tempt me to get out on the bike more often.

Morning and evening again. Was contemplating an evening paddle, but a 5am wake-up for riding tomorrow changed my mind.

rehabilitation 30:00 [1]
shoes: barefoot

Two days in a row of 2 sessions. Should really have been a bike ride instead. Today I got up when my alarm went off, but had breakfast then fell asleep in front of the television.

rehabilitation 16:30 [1]
shoes: barefoot

Nearly the (not quite as) usual (as it should be). Still had the timer set to cook last night's spaghetti. Wondered why it was feeling like a long first set, looked at my watch and saw 2:30 still to go and it clicked.
5 PM

cycle 41:35 [3] 18.14 km (2:18 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Ride to and from training, plus WU and CD with detour so I could make it on the roadie. Not much of a training session, especially not compared to the ride I should have done this morning.

In other depressing news, my bike computer is working again, so no new bike :( At least I won't need to do the calf raises tonight (though maybe I should to make up for yesterday)
