cycle (commute) 56:00 [3] 29.0 km (1:56 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Enjoyable cruise into work, with a helpful gentle tailwind the whole way. Nice and cool. Wore the arm warmers from GSAR for the first time just coz I could.

cycle (commute) 1:10:00 [3] 31.0 km (2:15 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Didn't love the wind so much this arvo. Seemed to freshen up a bit over the course of the day too. Return journey via Clarkson to drop off a key. Pretty uninspired, couldn't be bothered killing myself into the breeze.

run (beach run) 30:00 [2]
shoes: barefoot

Short, easy jog x 2 with the crew from work. Knee a bit sore, but tape-related. Different spot to tendinopathy issues, so seems to have recovered OK from brutal stretching and last week's flare-up. Now hopefully it continues to improve :)

core stability 20:00 [3]

Nobody turned up to use the gym this arvo and I was too lazy to roll out the bike and sit in a room on my own for an hour, so joined a 20 minute ab workout with staff. (all 3 of us :) ) Confirmed my suspicions that I no longer possess abs of any kind. Ouch.

Knee has felt pretty good today, especially considering I had a little jog this morning.

run hills (Parabolic) 6:20 [5] 1.8 km (3:31 / km)
shoes: Asics 3000

Ha ha. WEll, I'd forgotten just how much this could hurt. For some reason I had happy memories of parabolic hill... To top it off, I thought we'd do at least 6, probably just recovering down or +30 sec. Instead we got only 5 reps, with +30 sec between 1 and 2, 2 min between 2-3, 3-4, and 3 minutes before the last one.
So, I did what anyone faced with such an 'easy' session would do - I went out hard. And I needed every second of recovery plus some as I struggled to finish the last rep and needed a little lie down at the top coz everything went a bit spinny and dark.

I don't think intensity 5 is high enough.
Felt quite ill for the first hald of the ccoldown, much like SAS sandhills, which, funnily enough, is about the same rep. duration.
1:13, 1:15, 1:16, 1:18, 1:18.

Pretty sure these times are quick, but it's a shame the track is so much quicker than it used to be coz any comparisons to 6 years ago are totally meaningless :(

Note

Last PArabolic session I can find March 2008!
2 x 3 x recover down +30, 3 min between sets. Times 1:19-1:25.
So, better, I s'pose, though I would have died a horrible death if I had that recovery tonight.

Pretty standard ride to work...

shoes: Avanti Blade

Home again. Had to push a bit harder than the way there.
