run long (long(ish)) 1:14:21 [2]
shoes: Asics 3000

Very slow 3pmish run. Slow due to heat and just wanting time on legs to see what would happen. Medial quad on right side started to feel a bit tight/tired/sore after about 45 minutes. Left one joined in for the last 5 minutes, so stretching my be in order. Other than that and the temperature was all good. Probably should be intensity 1, but 34 degrees and the fact I am now drowning the keyboard makes it a 2.

Windtrainer intervals 1:00:00 [4]
shoes: Avanti Blade

Important bit was 6x5min threshold intervals. Did all but the first one one gear up from my school sessions. Blew up pretty good by the end. Less mind numbing in the company of Tooms and MTBJen than solo. Did a couple of one leg drills too. I suck.

paddle (ocean) 1:03:00 [2]
shoes: Spirit PRS plastic

7am paddle with Tooms from Floreat to Scarborough, back down tothe city beach groyne and return. Ocean nice and flat, but a moderate easterly wind providing the fear factor of swimming after the ski out to Rottnest if I fell off. Only a few dicey moments, but my technique is rubbish on the ocean as I use so much concentration ensuring I stay upright to focs on trying to get any significant forward momentum.
Still - an hour on the ocean and no falls again, so it's a start.

run (beach plod) 33:17 [3]
shoes: barefoot

Given my later than usualy start at work today and Good Friday tomorrow, I switched the beach run back to Thursday, thinking I might get a ride in tomorrow morning. Wish I hadn't. Felt awful to start and didn't improve. Pulled the pin early. Discovered that starting an hour later, whilst having the happy effect of giving you daylight means that hunger issues are far more severe.

cycle (commute) 1:05:45 [2] 29.0 km (2:16 / km)

Slow and energyless dribble to work. Legs and lungs still very much recovering from last night...

cycle (commute) 59:15 [3] 29.0 km (2:03 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Headwind a bit weaker than normal and I was in a hurry, so I pushed it a bit. Felt totally crap afterwards. Probably related to not eating any lunch and being dehydrated.

run intervals 25:04 [5] 7.5 km (3:21 / km)
shoes: Asics 3000

5 x 1500m, 5 min recovery

Didn't feel like it at the start, so just attacked from the start of the first rep. Felt hard, but ran faster than expected and so motivation was there for the rest of the session, reps 3 onwards it really felt like I got into a good rhythm. Such an awesome feeling - one that has been missing for a long time.

Note
(rest day)

Oh well. The streak had to end some time. Was too late to ride in the morning and work got on top of me in the afternoon. Was re-OCADing the school map until 10:30, then gave up and went to bed.
