run 45:00 [4]
shoes: Asics 3000

Karawarra MetrO. Token warm-up followed by 40 minutes running pretty hard in warm conditions. Knee felt good. Route was not too bad if I hadn't run straight past a control on the way to my first one, and I got confused after trying to make the most of Tooms running in front of me for a while half way thru. Then realised that he may be going a different way, panicked and stuffed up the route to the next control... Errors cost me at least 2 places and came in about 6th.

cycle (commute) 1:00:30 [3] 29.0 km (2:05 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Really must get the chain looked at - it's getting worse...

cycle (commute) 1:02:30 [3] 29.0 km (2:09 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Went home the old way for a change of scenery. Ride time may be very marginally quicker, but if you ad in the stops at all the roundabouts and traffic lights, it's definitely slower.

paddle 1:41:00 [3]
shoes: Spirit PRS plastic

Evening paddle with Evo from Matilda Bay Restaurant to Claremont Jetty, drink stop, then return. Pretty warm out, not much breeze.

run (sand) 40:18 [3]
shoes: barefoot

Sand run from Brighton to Trigg and return, then another 10ish minute loop northwards and back (less shells etc due to beach cleaning machine activity, so kinder on my wussy feet than continuing southwards).

A bit of knee acheyness, didn't seem to be patellar tendon, a bit more lateral, and no sharp twinges, but probably shouldn't have skipped the stretches for the last couple of days.

Calves really started to seioze up after 20-25 minutes. Going to be interesting to see if they stretch out OK or stay sore for days...

cycle (commute) 57:25 [3] 29.0 km (1:59 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Tired and uninspired, but at least there was a substantial SE'ly, so it was relatively painless. Put seat up a bit too high to start, was a bit too low by the time I arrived - and I'm doing the quick release up so tight I can barely open it. Getting a bit frustrating...

cycle (commute) 1:04:50 [3] 29.0 km (2:14 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

solid but unspectacular ride home.

One annoying thing about riding at the moment is that my bike has developed a nasty habit over the last couple of weeks of having the chain jump off - usually at exciting times like when crossing roads in front of traffic, on roundabouts, basically any time I suddenly try to accelerate. May have to try fixing the problem before I get my self killed (as after would be a little late)

Note

Crap. Got home late from dinner. Had a stomach ache most of the night. Got owken up at 4:15 by darling daughter. Turned alarm off and skipped morning beach run. Won't be home from school till 6:30pm ish tonight, so may well turn into a rest day again.

cycle (commute) 59:00 [3] 29.0 km (2:02 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Not terribly inspired early ride into work. Tailwind made it bearable. Seat is too low again which makes it harder on the uphills. Should probably adjust it...

cycle (commute) 1:04:39 [4] 29.0 km (2:14 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Home into the wind as fast as possible as I was running late for dinner. Grump-inducing day at work. Foot getting more sore and swollen.
