cycle 1:30:00 [2]
shoes: Diamondback Vectra Sport

About and hour and a half putting out controls and 45 mniutes collecting them for Hillarys metrO. Other than DSR chumps not opening the Ern Halliday gate, despite assuring me at 3pm that it would b open, seemed to run smoothly.

Thanks to Fletcher and Craig for control collection and to Simmo for doing all the little extra bits that I ran out of time for, like printing, toilets, banking etc and to my Dad for helping set up and most importantly providing transport (and giving up his entire afternoon in the process.

cycle (commute) 59:50 [3] 29.0 km (2:04 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Tailwind this morning. Legs got going after about 10 minutes. Back rim is getting worse. Got the extra fanatastic news that the panelsbeaters haven't finished with my car yet, so I won't get it back until Monday afternoon.

cycle (commute) 1:11:30 [3] 28.5 km (2:31 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

In a vain attempt to avoid a little of the headwind I tried going down Marmion Ave and across to the freeway on Moore Drive. Utterly fruitless, although unless something weird happened to my bike computer along the way, a surprising amount shorter than my usual route. Felt pretty tired and unmotivated. I want my car back...

No car removed any possibility of paddling with Evo. Probably good as I was in bed before we would have finished paddling.

cycle (commute) 59:15 [3] 29.0 km (2:03 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Happily had a bit of a tailwind this morning. Legs felt tired to begin with, but got going better in the second half

cycle (commute) 1:12:15 [3] 29.0 km (2:29 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Had a new appreciation for yesteray's ride today. Similar conditions, felt a bit more motivated and pushed a bit harder, but happy to have yesteray in the bank so I knew it wouldn't be a PW this time :)

run 12:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Equalon 2

Beep test with 12 PE Studies students to keep them honest. Most of them are going to die in a triathlon if that was a true indication of their abilities. One bloke made it to the end of level 11. I started level 12, thinking I might keep going, then decided I didn'r feel like hurting myself in public.

cycle (commute) 1:02:00 [3] 29.0 km (2:08 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Struggle street to get started. Legs feeling the part-session from last night. Knee a bit sore pushing up hill.

cycle 1:16:00 [3] 29.0 km (2:37 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Was blowing an absolute gale up at Quinns today. The sort of day that I knew I needed to feel strong both mentally and physically to push hard into the wind if I wanted the ride home to be anything other than a slow blob. Didn't have it physically or mentally and the way I struggled into the wind for the first 20-odd minutes I figured I'd be close to a PW. By the time I hit 8.5km to go, I only had 15 minutes left to avoid the PW so knew it was inevitable.
Ended up setting the PW by a full 6 minutes (I think - I'm not gonna look up every commute for the last twelve months to check)

cycle (commute) 1:01:10 [3] 29.0 km (2:07 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Felt pretty flat. Very humid. Hope the legs get used to it by Friday...

cycle (commute) 1:07:00 [3] 29.0 km (2:19 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Ride home. Warm, humid, headwind, pushed a bit harder for the last 8km, but it didn't make much difference

run warm up/down 20:00 [1] 3.5 km (5:43 / km)
shoes: Nike Equalon 2

Warm-up, cooldown and 2 min recovery jog after 1st rep.

run intervals 14:50 [4] 3.8 km (3:54 / km)
shoes: Nike Equalon 2

Managed to miss enough of Tooms' intervals to turn up for the first long threshold session. Nominally 2 or 3 x 3km. Turned out to be 2.8km (and I only did 1 and a bit coz there's a limit to how much I'm prepared to ignore my rehab plan)
10:46 for the 2.8km, then ran about 500m with Tooms on the second rep before turning around to head home. 4:06 for however long the second one was...

Knee not as sore as expected. Better keep stretching and icing.

cycle (commute) 28:11 [3] 13.3 km (2:07 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Well i shouldn't have too much trouble getting the training hours a bit higher this week as I dropped my car off at the panel beater's this morning and I don't get it back till Friday afternoon...
Already horrible and sticky by 7:30 this morning.

cycle (commute) 1:08:00 [3] 29.0 km (2:21 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Struggle home. The wind was a blessing in that it cooled things down, but a curse in that I had to push into it the whole way home. Back rim is fairly stuffed. Will have to see if anyone can fix it during the day, or I may end up riding the commute on my MTB.
