Orienteering race (Beraking Brook Badge) 2:10:00 [4] *** 10.6 km (12:16 / km)
spiked:15/20c

Knew this was going to be tough and it didn't disappoint. Thought I may have ben sufering a bit from the cold I've had for a couple of days, bt it turns out that itreally was just that thick and steep and I probably started too hard. Fanstastic through the first 5 in hindsight. Thought I was slow and crap, but it turns out I was only 2 mintes behind Craig after half and hour... Used a long track run to read ahead. Good idea, but not something I normally do and it caused me to come unstruck as I left control 5, reading as if I was running 6-7. 10 minutes down there and other substantial mistakes at 9,12,16 (3 min, 3 min, 5 min) and a little one at 19 for good measure.
All good memories of this area from 2 years ago are now completely erased. Will take a long time to get al of the prickles out of my legs...
10.6km 580?climb straight line. Ran a lot further. Or maybe not. Walked lots...

Note
(sick)

Thought it may have been on the way. Have spent the whole week stuck in a corner of an office the furthest from fresh air, surrounded by sick people. Hope it's not too bad to race on Sunday

run 1:07:00 [3] 13.5 km (4:58 / km)
shoes: Nike Equalon

Early morning blob around herdsman in the dark. With gloves and beanie (beanie only lasted 10 imnutes). Shoes got wet in a couple of big puddles half way round that I couldn't really miss. Yuk. Knee had a dull ache most of the way.

cycle (commute) 1:01:30 [3] 29.0 km (2:07 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Bit chilly. Jumper on the whole way. Quads and glutes very tired from last night, but not sore, which is good I s'pose.

cycle (commute) 1:00:00 [3] 29.0 km (2:04 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

Quads still feeling it. Knees have ben a bit sorer than normal today. Will have to actually use the voltaren I've had out on the bench and have a good stretch tonite.
