Orienteering race (State Sprint Champs) 18:35 [4] 4.0 km (4:39 / km)
(injured) shoes: Nike Equalon

Didn't think I'd run and it was Penny's birthday, so she certainly didn't want me to, but I was so fidgety and grumpy that she told me to go, and glad I did.
Pretty apprehensive about how I'd go, given how much it hurt yo stand up, sit down, walk, etc, but a short warm-up told me I'd get thru OK and once I had a map tp focus on i really didn't notice the soreness much (until about 2 minutes after finishing)
Started more conservatively than usual and focussed on slowing down enough to read the map properly, which unfortunately for me at the moment means far too much walking or a sprint event, but happily it meant I had a steady, fairly clean run and ended up third. Pushed a bit harder on the last 3 brainless legs which was the only part of the course I matched Craig on.
Rob J got me by about 1:20, Craig by 1 minute. Sten had 30 seconds on me (and a share of the lead) at control 4 but faded a bit and I got him by 10 seconds.
Best 'competitiion' run for a Looooong time.

run warm up/down 7:00 [1] 1.0 km (7:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Equalon

About 5 minutes before (didn't have tie for much more) and a very token 2/3 of a lap of the oval after...

cycle (commute) 1:01:00 [3] 29.2 km (2:05 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade

First ride to school in far too long. Felt OK but never really got the motivation up to push hard

cycle 1:09:30 [2] 29.6 km (2:21 / km)
(injured) shoes: Avanti Blade

A ride of 2 sections. Felt awesome in the frst 10km. Pushed much harder than the am and was really enjoying myself. Unfortunately misjudged how slippery the slightly wet roads would be, and despite taking the turn from marmoin onto hodges wide I slid out and ended up sliding on my hip and arm across to the median strip.
After a ouple of minutes making sure i was still alive and that my bike stilled rolled I got going again, but very slowly and without much enthusiasm. Gonna need some new bike knicks and a new helmet, but very glad I was wearing both a helmet and some gloves, coz judging my the hole in my gloves and the bruise on the heel of my hand I would have lost a fair chunk of it if it was uncovered and I can't remember the last time my head bounced off the road like that...
