Rogaine race 11:52:00 [1] 67.0 km (10:38 / km)
shoes: adidas supernova trail

Black Cat rogaine with Wil. Pretty clean run except for a bit of vagueness creeping in towards the end once we knew we were going to make it in in time and didn't have the option of adding in anything worthwhile. For once felt like I was probably the stronger member of a rogaine paor. Felt the lack of running, although I may have paid for it if I had run more earlier. Didn't feel like there was muc more we could have done but got totally pantsed by tRicky and Steve M. They had an extra vontrol plus 3 minutes on us by our first control, ran huge chunks of the course and I think must have covered about 75km to beat us by 230 points. Wouldn't have dared plan that much. Have never done that distance in a 12 hr, so they were just way too good.

Tried a few things out in prep for adventure races later in the year. Skins for base layer in long races - mostly good, except for that stupid meshy bit that I suppose is meant to be to keep your boy bit cooler. Hmmmm. Not as smooth and friction free as the rest of the tights. Ouch.

Had been pretty aprehensive about how my foot would cope with the pounding. Got achey after a couple of hours but then got better again after about an hour and didn't return.

Also had wondered what hte effect of not having done a long run since July last year would be. Obviously not too much at the pace we were travelling. Legs seem to have pulled up better than the last couple. One blister at the base of my heel, one n the inside from the ankle brace, but overall prety good. Plan to get out on the bike for a bit on Monday.

run 28:48 [2] 6.0 km (4:48 / km)
shoes: Nike Equalon

Just a little loosener to try to get rid of some of the muscle soreness from gardening on Wednesday. Successful from that regard, but felr harder than it should have at times. Ah well, rogaine taper complete (more due to bad weather and laziness than design).

run hills (Kalinda) 10:47 [5] 3.0 km (3:36 / km)
shoes: Nike Equalon

2 sets of 3 Kalinda reps. Recover down (3 min), 3 min between sets

Didn't do any run hru's and combined with my general lack of running recently and the fact that the last 4 weeks of intervals have been on a steep sandhill, this made for a slow start. Felt better as I went.

1:55, 1:51, 1:48
1:43, 1:46, 1:46

run warm up/down 38:00 [1] 6.3 km (6:02 / km)
shoes: Nike Equalon

1 and a bit km W/U, 2km cool down, recovery betweeen intervals...
