Windtrainer 40:00 intensity: (30:00 @1) + (10:00 @4)
shoes: Avanti Blade

10 min WU, 5 x 2:2, 5 min cooldown.
The efforts were starting to feel like an effort by the end, but I suspect I was in a totally different set of gears to what I used to use. Will have to find out later.

core stability 30:00 [3]

Have finally admitted to myself that the fact I struggle to do a sit up in fitness testing with my students is a fair indication that a decade of not doing any core work or strength sessions is probably too long, especially now I am OLD. Not OMT old, but getting old nonetheless.
Tried, but failed to find a list of exercises from ye olde beach circuit, but knocked a session together that hurt enough. Exercise physiologist/sports physician/physio feedback welcome...

3 x 1 min plank (chances of doing a plank for as long as we used to do at the start of the session back in the day = 0)
3 x 20 crunches
2 x 15 lateral leg raises
2 x 15 bridges with leg lift
2 x 15 clam shells
2 x 10 single leg squats
3 x 15 reverse crunches
3 x 15 something else that I also called reverse crunches but must be something else
3 x 20 push -ups (nearly, but only made 14 on the last set :( )

The order isn't quite right, but I think I remembered the exercises.

run 34:46 [2] 7.0 km (4:58 / km)
shoes: Saucony Cortana Fluoro

Meeting at work went late so missed my lift home so I ran. Slowly. Achilles were a little tight for the first few hundred metres, then really good till about 20 minutes. Could feel left one a little after that.

For anyone who wondered if I have been doing any secret training - nope. Second run in 8 weeks. It's going to be a long road back - if I start...
