Easy headlamp run. Headlamp strap was a bit tight, but otherwise alright. Made a nice change from building flatpacks.

Easy run with RRR. Got stopped and asked for directions y some lost tourists. Couldn’t have picked a worse person in the group. Thankfully Google maps knew the answers!

run intervals 1:03:15 intensity: (18 @1) + (18:49 @2) + (36:54 @3) + (7:10 @4) + (4 @5) 13.94 km (4:32 / km)
ahr:147 max:181 shoes: x-talon 230

200-400-600-800-1000-800-600-400-200-400-600-800-1000 at 5 km pace, with 200 slow jog recoveries between efforts.
Never felt great, but hit target times pretty comfortably (except the first 1km, where I didn’t manage to hit the split button on the watch!), aiming for 23sec/100m.
HR got a bit higher on this run. Have cut heart medication in half since Thursday last week (on Dr advice). Wonder if there’s a link? Haven’t noticed any increase in ectopics yet.
Dr has suggested that my ectopics aren’t at all dangerous, so if I can tolerate the weirdness of what it feels like, there’s no reason to actually be on medication, and if I do stay on it, it is worth trying something other than fleccainide, which apparently has a small risk of causing it’s own problems.
Might be an interesting few months…

Easy rookies run plus a tiny bit.

Still feeling really flat. Warm up felt awful, but figured I could get through half the session without killing myself.
5x500m, 100m walk
10x100m, 10 walk
Gradually got moving in the 500’s and enjoyed striding out a bit in the 100’s, but not sad to pull the pin early.
L knee sore by the end.

Note

Had a slack week - partly to rest my knee, which flared up a bit in a basketball lesson early in the week, partly because I knew how many stairs I would be climbing over the weekend.
Got the keys for our new house at 3:30pm Friday and spent the vast majority of my waking hours through to Sunday night lugging furniture and boxes down one set of stairs and up again at the other end.
Pretty knackered, but happily not injured.

Much cooler than the last couple of long runs. Felt relaxed throughout. Knee not too bad. Ditto R ankle.

Wasn’t sure how this would go - knee was pretty bad at school today, but not too bad warming up on grass. Opted out of the 2 sessions offered by the coach and went with 10x800m with 400m slow jog recovery. The other guys doing it seemed to think that whatever you run for the 800’s im min:sec translates magically to an accurate marathon prediction in hrs:mins.
Seemed unlikely to me, but seemed no worse than 5x1600 @5km pace, so aimed to do it at about that pace. Started way too slow, but eventually got moving.
Ran the last one quick enough to think I really should have pushed a bit harder on the earlier ones.
Pretty knackered now (and not expecting to run a marathon in the 2:56-3:11 range that covered the session).
