riding 2:00:00 [3]

Vanessa had an appointment in town while I did a bit of cycling, then we met up again and headed up into the hills.
great fun, good training, probably did upwards of 1000m of climbing but really hard to know.

strength and conditioning shampoo 15:00 [3]

Pool running 20:00 [3]

My first experience with pool running.
was a bit of a trial by fire, having no belt and working really hard. fairly impressed though, i was expecting worse!

shoes: inov-8 OROC 280

was never planning on doing the whole trenches long course, but did my ankle fairly early on when I was still close to the arena so walked back to be safe.

running 42:31 [2] 5.86 km (7:16 / km) +236m 6:03 / km
shoes: NIke Fly knit 2

another cruise around the lavarone training map. feeling a bit better than yesterday but was still happy to just jog around the map. took my time to take photos (some great views) and a brief look at a WWII castle that was just off the map.
2 PM

running warm up/down 7:56 [3] 1.23 km (6:29 / km) +1m 6:27 / km
shoes: NIke Fly knit 2

orienteering race 14:52 [5] 3.95 km (3:46 / km) +80m 3:25 / km
shoes: NIke Fly knit 2

Sprint relay in Pergine (i think).
feeling better than the morning but still groggy.
Greta Knarston ran first and did really well and I started with a bit of a pack of runners around me: A young italian, Zsolt was nearby and Tue Lassen as well. They obviously didn't have a headcold unlike me, and was being dropped by them in the early fast section, but some favourable forking and a bit of cheeky maneuvers by me in the later more technical section kept me in touch ;)
3 PM

running warm up/down 6:56 [2] 0.81 km (8:35 / km) +14m 7:54 / km

after flying to Milan yesterday, and then travelling to Rovereto today we managed to get up to some training at Forte Cherle. I was feeling pretty under the weather, jet lagged and with a sore throat, and running was hard, but it was so fun to be up in the mountains. still quite a bit of snow around, and quite nice forest.

sprint training on the capital O map made for last years Aus champs carnival. first time I've run on it, and had a pretty good time. just a course. far too fatigues or stressed though :(
Hopefully that'll change once I fly out to Milan... tomorrow!
